I would make sure the game is using your dedicated GPU rather than the integrated graphics. I have found that my GPU shows no readings unless its under load.

It's always worth trying the simple stuff first. It's not the button combo that turns off the touchpad is it? On my an515-42 it's Fn + F7

I had similar WiFi issues after updating my BIOS. I was recommended to use the battery reset pin under the laptop and it hasn't disconnected yet. But I haven't done any heavy lifting with it yet, only light web browsing but it's holding up so far.

I am on 1.13 at the moment, but I had the same issue when 1.11 was released and it went away when I downgraded to 1.09

Updating to the latest BIOS and turning on the Keyboard Lighting Timeout on like andylb suggested is the fix. Took them long enough to admit it was a bug, let alone fix it...

If updating your drivers like the above suggestion doesn't work, you can try turning off hardware acceleration.

There are a few stability updates between versions 1.06 and 1.10 that can be of use. I would download version 1.10. Version 1.11 is the one with the backlight issue

I wish people would stop quoting what the Acer Rep INCORRECTLY stated. If it was a feature while on AC power, then how come it wasn't in the earlier BIOS revisions? Why wasn't it added to the release notes for 1.11/1.22? And why wasn't it mentioned to me by Acer's technical support when they suggested collecting my laptop…

Don't hold your breath, Acer apparently don't see it as a bug. Their technical support can't see a problem with their BIOS code (likely because it wasn't listed in the release notes), and one of the Acer reps on this forum claimed it was actually a feature without reading everyone's comments...

I love how their support system says they will answer technical support emails within 48 hours... They still haven't got back to me yet.

Did you even read what was in the link you posted? "AC adapter power - The keyboard backlight default is ON." If it was supposed to time out on AC power, don't you think one of the several people I've spoken to at Acer would have said that instead of offering to collect my laptop to see whats going on?
