Restoring to factory settings will remove any data and restore back to as it was when you first got the machine...all programs and settings that were originally on there without anything else...ie,anything created since/your files and data.
-
Try clicking on the "cancel" tab...then you ought to see a message that will state the program is being cancelled...clicking the red X will just exit the page as the internal program is already running.

Just me but I always remove the lead when the battery is fully charged.

If the above hasn`t worked you can also try to use the "boot from hard drive" program from the Hirens Boot disc...the link is here...http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/...(edit to add)...it is free to download and use. I have used this to boot into restore when for some reason it would not work from the usual…

The callers "from window departments" have been at it for a long time...I used to receive at least a call a day "from windows department" but less often now...tell them you have a Mac.

Here is a link to the error code that your machine is displaying... http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/tp/stop_error_list_0x1_0x5f.htm As you have the recovery disc I would personally wipe the hard drive using DBan and start again using the windows 7 discs you have...you can get the program from the Hirens…

One of my machines is an Acer D250...I believe I just connected up via the vga port and connected into the relevant tv port...then set the tv to the right input via the tv settings under "source" or whatever your remote says for input settings........if you`re having trouble with getting the external display...try going to…

Heh heh...Yup...it was my thought patterns through the ethersphere ! ...glad to know the problem hasn`t recurred so far.

Have you tried to "restore your computer to any earlier time" via the control panel...to a time prior to this problem ? ...it is one of the easiest first steps in trying to rectify a problem.

Try getting what you need from eBay...find a seller closest to you...these are from the UK site but many sellers post world wide... http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=Acer+travel+mate+LCD+hinge&LH_PrefLoc=2

I`ve bought several batteries from the eBay site...never had a problem with any of the purchases...but if using the site make sure to check the seller out.

Also check out browser add-ons...before disabling some of these my machine was a little slow...some add-ons sneakily appear when you download certain programs too and you`re not aware they`re there...start button...tyoe in manage browser add-ons...open it up and hit edit add-ons...disable any that are using amounts of time…

If you search Google/youtube you will find references to a registry fix for this to raise the resolution so windows 8 will load correctly on 10.1" screens...be careful if doing this as several people have ensured their machines didn`t boot again by this registry fix....!!!

Try a "restore your computer to an earlier time" from the Control Panel to prior to the download. Control Panel...System and Security...Action Centre..."restore your computer to an earlier time"...good luck.

The keypad should be working regardless of the missing key...normally you will find you can hit the button but it`s not ideal...there are several places you can buy a single key...I`ve no idea whether Acer offers this service but eBay certainly does, where you can buy single keys...usually for very little in the UK.…
