Okay. Yes at the start, the disk is at 100% at startup then it goes back to normal but the machine just now took a long time to start up. Stays on a black screen at boot-up and then I get to the windows login screen .

Okay. I will post an update later today.

Verify this as soon as boot into the desktop or after I use the laptop for some time?

I tried those steps and still am noticing slow boot up times.

brummyfan2, I tried the suggested actions and am still seeing the same results.

UPDATE : Ok, I fixed the issue.

I had an issue like that as well Bloomonday. Sent the machine in to Acer for repair and turns out I had a bad hard disk drive. They replaced it, sent it back and so far it has been running just perfect! I am assuming you are still under manufacturer warranty, I would recommend going that route

UPDATE : I tried those steps and the games still stutter and and run poorly. When I plug the laptop back in to the charger, everything back to buttery smooth. I wonder what I may be doing wrong.

I recently purchased a Nitro and had issues around the 3rd day mark. The machine was still in warranty and Acer fixed the issue. The issue, turns out, was a bad hard drive. The machine has been running smooth as a whistle so far. The actual time I was without the laptop was about a week. I sent it out on 08/30 and had it…
