Well the first part i would like to point out is the HDD would not show 32bit or 64bit. Thats is the type of OS. Meaning like windows 7 pro 64 bit/32bit. Well could be an issue with the OS so if you do not have the recovery disk for the unit you could always contact acer to get a set. Other side it could be an issue with the HDD, Hope this helps i will also add the link below for the acer store. www.store.acer.com

Well you would need to format the HDD to be safe then run installation while in Legacy BIOS then go through the normal steps. There may be drivers that will not work so make sure to write down the driver names to be safe and download the drivers from thwe sites for the parts. Acer may not have the avalible drives due to…

well try to unplug alldevices from the unit then take then unplug the unit and hold the power button down for 30 secs. once done plug it back in and see if the issue remains.

check and see if the device manager is showing the device.

Well i do not belive that Acer will be able to send the Recovery disk you need. they generally stop carrying them after some time and XP is way to old. The best thing to do is find a retail copy of XP and run that and install the drivers.

Try a power reset on the unit. Remove the battery, take off the Adapter. then hold the power button down for 30secs, once done put the battery back in and try it

well the unit was not made for the LED screen so there is a good chance you may harm the Mainboard.
