Aspire One 532h - Replacing BIOS Battery
The BIOS battery on my Acer Aspire 523h never retained enough charge to keep the date and time current. However I want to replace it with a new battery. What make would the battery be, where can I get one, and what were the specs., e.g. voltage, etc., for this. Also would it be easy to replace? I guess its well soldered onto the mother board. Many thanks.

Hi,
I think that it's a CR2032 battery, it's widely available in UK, it's situated just above the RAM module, you need to do a complete disassembly to access it.

CR2032. Unfortunately, some mainboards apparently came with soldered contacts, others with a simple plug. The task of checking which you have and changing it is not a trivial task in either case. Google the keywords "aspire one 532h" "cmos" "replace". There are excellent step-by-step photographed procedures on some websites that will give you an idea of what's involved. Jack E/NJ
