  • not seeing it in the information tab of the monitor menus, just the S/N with the screen size and the hz its running at
  • before it was a generic Microsoft firmware that was dated back to 2006, after I downloaded the update from the ACER site it now reads as ACER v1.0.0.0 4/18/2017
  • I know that my motherboard is an MSI motherboard but can't remember the exact model of it since I built the computer about 2 to 3 years ago.Since the monitor is connected to my video card I doubt that the motherboard has anything to do with the connection lost issues
  • custom built
  • Seems like that's my only option at this moment, I'll see if that works out, either way, thanks a lot for taking the time to try and help me through this problem, can only imagine how frustrating it must be to try and find an answer to something you can only read about.
  • sadly I can't, don't have another monitor that supports DisplayPort

  • From what I see from the website, it says the monitor is DP 1.2. Although, I understand that all DisplayPort versions (1.2,1.3 etc) are backwards compatible with each other. If the monitor is 1.2 and my graphics card is 1.4 there shouldn't be anyproblem since the card can support up to 1.4
  • the exact name of my video card is "XFX Radeon RX 480 DirectX 12 RX480M8BFA6 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card" Slightly old but, it does support 144hz and higher. By default when the monitor is set to DisplayPort it sets itself to 144hz and while in HDMI setting itself to 120hz
  • For most of the games I play, I usually set them to medium settings, mainly to get the most frames per second my graphics card can dish out. I should point out that the blinking problem starts when the monitor has to "refresh" for anything i.e. screensaver, going fullscreen for a game or something of a similar nature. It's…
  • Its a Desktop and I'm using the latest Radeon software (18.7.1)
  • That was one of the first things I did when the problem first occurred. Even after I updated the driver I'm still getting this problem. Sometimes my resolution gets lowered to 640X480 and I can't change it till I shutdown or reset.
