XFA240 bmjdpr Displayport

About a week ago I purchased this monitor, recently about 3 days in this monitor has started giving off this issue of blinking on and off mainly when I try playing a game such as Overwatch or CS:GO. The only way to make the problem stop temporarly is to do a hard shutdown or reset, but even then sometimes that doesn't help.

At first I thought it was a faulty DisplayPort wire and bought a new one. But, the issue is still going on, when I switch to a HDMI wire, the issue no longer exists but I lose out on the 144hz that the monitor provides only with DisplayPort. Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so, how did you fix it?

I'm running on Windows 10

Radeon RX480 8GIG

16GB Mem

with an i5 Intel 3.5

What is model of motherboard?

I know that my motherboard is an MSI motherboard but can't remember the exact model of it since I built the computer about 2 to 3 years ago.

Since the monitor is connected to my video card I doubt that the motherboard has anything to do with the connection lost issues

What is version firmware of monitor?

before it was a generic Microsoft firmware that was dated back to 2006, after I downloaded the update from the ACER site it now reads as ACER

In the menus of the monitor, shows the installed firmware?

not seeing it in the information tab of the monitor menus, just the S/N with the screen size and the hz its running at

I bought the cable that was mentioned earlier (ivanky DisplayPort Cable 6.6ft) and it fixes the issue entirely. I'd give it a shot. The cable provided does not seem to be a good enough quality to ensure that the monitor is used at the maximum performance listed. Running 1920x1080@144Hz and I haven't had an issue so far with the new cable.
