It will work, only one issue you will be facing is the acctivation over the phone (painless automated process). I have done it many times, no issue. Once acctivated the microsoft will remember the machine and you don't need to do it again. Regards

Make sure that you have the factory recovery dvd's. Just simply swap the drives, and boot from your install disks. SSD works perfect, I am using the OCZ vertex 4, and it boots in 10 sec flat, regardless of installed office, and more. Highly recomended. v

On the list of the replacement HDDs are SATA 2 drives. I have used SATA 3 drives on older laptops without any problems. Using SSD will speed up your laptop too, there are SATA 2 OCZ Vertex 3 on the market. Regards, v [edited to comply with guidelines]
