  • Unfortunately the original question hasn't been solved. Bluestacks still doesn't work.
  • For the acer recovery management software, check under C:\OEM\Preload\Autorun\app\Acer Recovery Management v6
  • I've installed Windows 8 Enterprise straight from a USB quite a few times. You have to follow the instructions on the internet on how to create a UEFI bootable USB drive, which involves formatting it as FAT32. You don't need x64 for UEFI as I only loaded 32 bit Windows 8 Enterprise.
  • From what I understand, UEFI will only boot FAT32. Won't boot NTFS.
  • Thanks. I downloaded it and installed it. It updates a bunch of firmwares. The trackpad is better but still bad. Much more sensitive now, things move faster, but the erratic movements are still there, just not as frequent. Still get backwards movements sometimes when trying to move in a horizontal direction. Using two…
  • Run windows update a few times. There is a windows update that will put those drivers out there. They are related to the ATOM chip itself.
  • I went back to the Acer stock version because of the Acer apps. I can't download any Acer specific apps (Such as the Crystal Eye Camera software) from the Windows Store with the normal install. I don't know what they change yet to allow downloading of acer specific apps or how the store detects that you're using an Acer…
  • You should have created the drivers cd/usb drive using the Acer Recovery software prior to upgrading. I've done that, it's about 1GB of data. Actually, I just checked, and the drivers themselves are only about 130MB, compressed less than 50MB. The other software from that 1GB was all of the acer stuff, acer cloud, clear.fi…
  • According to ark.intel.com that chip doesn't support 64 bit. I haven't tried to boot from a 64 bit OS yet. I've loaded 32 bit Windows 8 Enterprise a few times now. FYI, I can't get it to do a standard 'install' to an SD card, even with the drivers. It shows up in diskpart as removable media, so I suspect that's why the…
  • Sorry but that's not available when booting from a fresh install of Windows 8 Enterprise. Do you know how to make the store show me all of those Acer specific apps when loading from a fresh install?
  • Where do I download this software? I reloaded my W510 with Windows 8 Enterprise and installed the drivers that I created from the system before wiping it out, yet I don't see it.
  • Ok, I fixed my problem. I neglected to recall and state the fact that inbetween trying the recovery, I actually installed a fresh install of Windows 8 Enterprise. This formatted the C: partition and started fresh with Windows 8 Enterprise. I never did activate the Windows 8 Enterprise copy. Well I did not format the drive…
  • Called Acer support, they said because the key is blocked I need to call Microsoft. The other option is to return it for warranty repair. On my less than a week old tablet? No thanks. Called Microsoft, they said it's OEM and I need to call Acer. My other option is to open a case with Microsoft for $99. Really? I can buy a…
