  • https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29474/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-40-?product=80939 newest driver. I had one from 2017 and at first couldn't install this one (error driver not suitable) After removing Intel driver (thus on MS standard driver) install went through. Windows update wants to put the 2015 one…
  • Have a look here. I don't know if this works on you machine, though. http://community.acer.com/t5/V-and-VN-Series-Laptops/Unlock-bios-Acer-v5-573g-2-30-Advanced-menu/m-p/455800/highlight/false#M12313
  • The link you gave is dead. I think you wanted to link to the pagelink below, but I have no clue why you did this ... The TS from the link below asked about advanced settings he needed, and the accepted solution was a referral to a BIOS hack-site, since 'the manufacturer' (Acer) would't help him. Contrary to this, the tip…
  • On page 9 in the thread I mentioned above a possible fix is given: replace W10's version 11 of Intel Management Engine with 9. Falguni Bharadwaj: It has been seen that the present "Intel Management Interface" driver which is of v.11, is preventing complete shutdown of our laptops and causing issues while sleep and wake up.…
  • Huh? 'When pressing the Num Lock or Caps Lock on your keyboard, there is no notification to indicate the status. The on-screen indicators for Num Lock and Caps Lock are not available in Windows 8. Instead, it is possible to activate a beep signal when the key is pressed:'…
  • @LordBoos: I never had visual indicators except for Fn+F3 on W8.1. On W10 Fn+F3 gives visual feedback after using for instance Fn+F8. I btw stick with version .8105 because any higher one loses NumLock after sleep or hibernation.
  • My V5 573G also has these problems, also with restart and sleep ... Apparently were not the only ones. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-power/windows-10-shutdownsleep-problems/64edf4c7-9e15-4ea7-a4d5-61c90ddfb7c6?page=9

  • Two things you need to pay attention to: 1. Opening the cover: there are clips holding it. You probably know those things. Widely used ... Be careful. I broke 4 of them. 2. Getting a screw to secure the card. It's a screw with the same width as the ones holding the cover, but shorter. I got one from a computer repair…
  • Thanks for your reaction Clyde, but install of only the Dolby part results in rollback and this screen: And as far as I can see, the 2 versions I tried are the only ones available for W 8.1
  • Yes. I added a Samsung evo mSATA in the slot and use the original HDD for data. Everything works flawless.
