  • OK, I've got it working. My laptop is not fitted with the battery, so upon shut down I held down the power button until the laptop turned off. Then, when i started up the laptop, I kept tapping F2 immediately after I pressed the power button for a startup. And BIOS menu came up. So, problem solved. Thanks.
  • I'm using Acronis backup. I removed the USB HDD. Now I can see an ACER splash screen. But, the screen does not show F2 and F12 options, which it once did. I have no battery connected, I'm running without a battery. I have legacy BIOS.
  • Hi. It's not working. I tap F2 constantly right after I switch on. But, all that happens is I get audible beeps, then comes up the Windows logo. How can I get the Acer splash screen back? Why has that disappeared?
  • Again thanks. Just saying that in fact, once I installed the drivers and made sure I got the right passwords for my wireless hub, I was able to connect without doing anything else. I don't think I actually used the XP's Wireless Network Setup Wizard. So, I'm now using my 5315 wirelessly. Which is great.
  • Fantastic! Many thanks. Now I'm getting communication between 5315 and my wireless hub. Just a bit more work required I think. Will need to use Wireless Network Wizard.
  • Okay: I just put in a HDD that came with the 5315. That has Vista installed. My laptop works wirelessly with this HDD. I can turn wireless connectivity on or off, with the first button on the top row of buttons on the laptop. What I've gone and done is get another HDD, and put XP Professional on it. So, it must me a…
