I haven't taken the mobo yet from mine.....the only micro switch I've seen is the one pictured directly south of the red circled Bios chip (across that lagoon where the fan sits in. Anybody seen another micro switch either under that SSD plastic insulator or on the opposite side of the mobo?....please confirm....thanks

alright thanks,interesting fact about that switch .....I know there's a micro switch on the w500 mobo which has to be taped down when the back cover is removed....i'll check out this "other" switch under the ssd. thanks for your input

I had no issues getting the chip from that vendor....arrived within the time period specified. I checked the vendor's feedback and it was good with over 370 positive feedbacks and yes about 11 negative ones in the past year. Why was it so hard for the vendor to politely just send you a Bios chip if it was their fault...it…

if your to take it apart re-attach the ribbon cable from the led-lcd screen to the wifi card circuit board....worst case scenario is to buy a programmed w500 bios chip and replace/ solder it in. make sure that your windows os is installed with the small 350 MB SYSTEM RESERVE partition

disconnect ribbon connecting lcd to motherboard and reconnect I solved the issue by buying an acer w500 bios chip off a german vendor fro ebay for 23 canadian with shipping. GOT A SOLUTION, i BOUGHT THE BIOS CHIP OFF EBAY FOR $23 CANADIAN WITH SHIPPING FROM A GERMAN BASED VENDOR. I SNIPPED OFF THE OLD BIOS CHIPOFF THE MOTHERBOARD AND AND SOLDERED IN THE NEW PROGRAMMED BIOS CHIP AND SHE TURNED ON AFTER 10 MINUTES. EASY SOLUTION, HAD ONE FOOTING LOST SO I GOT A BASIC WHITE RUBBER ERASER AND CUT SLICES OFF IT AND FITTED THEM INTO THE DOCK HOLES....PERFECT FIT AND YOU CAN SIZE THEM THICKER OR THINNER SO THE TABLET DOESN''T ROCK BACKWARDS. Good news , got mine fixed Jan 7, bought a new programmed W500 BIOS chip and soldered it in with a simple 25 watt Soldering iron. USE NON ACID FLUX to take off the old and solder in the new.
