  • I've just been trying that as the symptoms seem to be the same - if anything it seems to have made things worse, so I'll reverse it back to how it was and go for the re-install next week. thanks for your efforts
  • Looks like it's a clean install then, but it will have to wait until next weekend now - I don't have time to take a backup of my files right now. one question though - the pc came installed with win 8.1, which I upgraded to win 10 - will I be able to re-load win 10 straight off, or do I need to go back to win 8.1 first?
  • JordanB I tried it in safe mode exactly as per your instructions and the response was: "We're sorry, but you can't go back. The files needed to take you back to a previous build were removed from this pc."
  • Just tried that again, but it comes up with: "We're sorry, but you can't go back. The files needed to take you back to a previous build were removed from this pc." well, not by me they weren't!
  • Thanks JordanB I have no SSD installed, so can rule that one out. I hadn't noticed the xc-705 being listed as the axc-705, so at least that's good news I guess. I've just managed to update the video driver, but again it's not cured the problem - I'll take anouther look and see if any of the other drivers also need updating…
  • Thanks Ironfly The update installed on the 6-sept, but when I try to roll it back it only goes back to the 9-sept for some reason, and if I try the option to revert to a previous build it says there is none, so it looks like i'm stuck with it and have to find a fix. I've tried different browsers and they are all affected…
