  • The part number that determines what your motherboard is capable of/has on it is the MB.whatever.whatever string on the RAM slots. The one I ended up with was the same as I mentioned on the OP, MB.RAZ02.004.
  • Hi there, I did indeed end up upgrading everything. Since the particular motherboard I used was capable, I didn't have any issues with the 2820qm. I left the BIOS it came with on. Really my biggest issue was figuring out the plethora of motherboard choices and part numbers associated with them; there a lot to choose from…
  • Thank you! You are awesome. I hate being pesky, but you wouldn't happen to also know if the stock CPU is soldred on or clipped on? And also, would I be able to reach the CPU from underneath, or will I have to take off the keyboard and everything else? Again, thanks for your help.
