  • apparently it's another way of uninstalling the drivers that I can't seem to find again?? But I put that together with Billsey's advice to download the drivers (I used the broadcom drivers on the list from ACER support) to a flash drive and reload them to the laptop and.....Voila, I had wireless again! Thanks to both of…
  • Hi, may I butt in here with the same problem on an Aspire Timeline X 3820T-7459? I have tried the command prompt uninstall fix as recommended by Acer support, and ...NO LOVE. It also recommended to ask support, but I am out of warranty so I can't ask them anything, I guess. Anyway all this has occured after a blown hard…
  • Hi Philetus, Thanks for the quick response. I have tried both keys and they don't turn the light on. I am sure that there is something in the setup somewhere that charges the F3 key. Something has to have been messed up when the old hard drive went down(I guess alot of things could have been screwed up when the Hard drive…
  • Thanks, very helpful, and I certainly appreciate it. Ken M
  • My Thanks to all of you for the help. I went with the one my friend had (WD7500LPCX) it's thinner (7.0mm), but my friend, who is more knowledgable than I, said it wouldn't be a problem. She was right and it plugs right in and is recognized in the bios. So problem solved and I just learned alot of new stuff. Now, moving…
  • Thanks Laurent, I have it on the way now. Appreciate all your help on this one, looks like I'll be up and running in a few days when all my new stuff gets here. You'll probably hear from me again as I'm sure I'll have a problem in the future...Thanks Again, Ken
  • WOW! I could have made a big mistake there, thanks for all the extra research. Obviously you have more resources than I (I'd still like to know where the compatibles lists are). BTW.....apparently I have a big problem, this laptop does not have a CD/DVD player/writer, so I'm am now sure I don't have any recovery media…
  • Laurent_14, Thanks for the quick solution. The original drive, as you know, is the WD Blue 320Gb (WD3200BPVT), and I have a friend with a WD Blue 750Gb (WD7500LPCX) is this also compatible (since they are both in the same family of mobile drives)? I only ask because she's willing to give me a real good deal on it, and…
  • No I haven't, and I don't have a clue as to how to do that. I can replace hardware but that's the limit of my ability. Thanks Ken M
  • Sorry, but I wasn't looking for the original HD but what drives are compatible as replacement/upgrades. I have the cover off and I have looked at the WD Blue drive, but I want to know where Acer is hiding the hardware compatibility lists for the 3820T? Or any of their laptops? I wasn't very clear and I apologize.....it's…
  • I have an Aspire 3820T-7459 (SN: LXPTC021****** if that matters) I have no idea what broke in the hard drive. Thanks, KM [edited for privacy - please do not post personal or unique information]
  • Excuse me...may I butt in here? Where do you find these compatibility lists? This should be something anyone can look up for their laptop (or desktop, for that matter) but I've been all over the support area, and couldn't find any hardware compatibility info anywhere??? Thank You Ken M (jstplncrz)
