My Iconia W3-810 was reset by using Acer Recovery DVD. After Window 8 was restarted, it could not find device for wireless connection.

Does anyone know how to get wifi connection after reinstall factory default DVD?

Best is to download the drivers to a different machine, then transfer to the W3 with a USB stick or SD card. Once they are installed you shoould be back up and running.

When the W3 first came out I recall a seperate Broadcom driver but there are only Acer driver packages now. I would start by loading one.

Next is still not found I would open Device Manager > Network Adapters > Broadcom and look for a yellow triangle or open the listing and see if the adapter loaded properly. If failed with a code 10  then in the driver tab select Uninstall then OK but DO NOT check the delete box. Once done reboot and see if that cures the problem.

Hi, may I butt in here with the same problem on an Aspire Timeline X 3820T-7459?  I have tried the command prompt uninstall fix as recommended by Acer support, and ...NO LOVE.  It also recommended to ask support, but I am out of warranty so I can't ask them anything, I guess.  Anyway all this has occured after a blown hard drive and adding a new hard drive (of the same brand and type, just larger 750Gb)  So far everything else works but I can't get online 'cause it won't find my wireless network.....I can't even turn on wireless with the Fn + F3 buttons.  I have no idea where to go next, I just hope someone has some further knowledge with this problem.  Thanks in advance  Ken M. "command prompt uninstall" ? What is that ? I use the Control Panel>Device Manager>Network Adapters>Broadcom SDIO>Properties>Driver GUI.

BTW can also do a right click on the network icon in the tray and select Troubleshoot...

    Thanks you, padgett.

Loading the drivers package did not bring wifi back since the Windows 8 has not been set up properly by Acer's recovery dvd. The recovery dvd did not complete installation and was ejected during updating system at 33%.

apparently it's another way of uninstalling the drivers that I can't seem to find again??  But I put that together with Billsey's advice to download the drivers (I used the broadcom drivers on the list from ACER support) to a flash drive and reload them to the laptop and.....Voila, I had wireless again!  Thanks to both of you, for your help.  JSTPLNCRZ

    billsay,

After additional try to run the driver package from support.acer.com, wifi and other functions of Iconia W3 tablet are functional. Thank for your suggestion.

Great! It's easy to forget that you might need the network drivers to bootstrap loading other drivers. Making sure you have them handy can be a real help. Smiley Happy
