  • Mine is also greyed out but the driver reports 100-200khz hardware playback capabilities. Tried a 192khz file and it seems to play it all right. Not sure if windows downmix things or not, though. I'll try to investigate this further when I get home. =)
  • I tried it on my W4. I know they are different machines. but there are similarities. Had no luck with dos at all.. not even windows 7 :/ You could try booting a windows 8 image from usb and press shift + f10 fhile in the installer. It should bring up a command prompt where you can do important stuff like mounting drives…
  • Please check this thread. There is no real fix to the problem yet but it is possible, with som hackery, to make it happen less often. http://community.acer.com/t5/Windows-Tablets/W4-820-resume-from-long-sleep-Freeze-issue/m-p/234934#U234934 Regards. Christian [edited for privacy]
  • I allready did exactly what you wrote others should not try except that I used driver magician instead of downloading them manually. =) Seems to work quite well just by updating drivers. The problem with D-M is that it sometimes download the wrong drivers so you must keep an eye on where it chose to download from and what…
  • You can program eeproms over serial/parallel by using an app called ponyprog: http://www.lancos.com/prog.html It all depends on what make and model the chip is. Just a thought =)
  • Just a quick update. I tried the app you mentioned and I gotta say it's a keeper. Thank you! =)
  • Stuff happens even to the best. I bought a Lenovo a few months back. It broke down after two weeks. I've never had problems with neither Acer nor lenovo before. Don't be so harsh on them =)

  • Download an oem image of windows 8.1 instead. Put it on a usb using this tool: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool I know it says windows 7 but trust me, it works for windows 8 too =) It does take som fiddling since you have to download and install all drivers from acers home page…
  • Thank you! =)

  • Gotta try that app you are using. I'm currently stuck with winamp that I like to use on my regular computers but it's a pain to use on a tiny tablet like this. Just trying to exit the **bleep** thing is a feat of its own =P Have not heard any scratching sounds yet but perhaps it takes a while before it happens? Can't say I…
  • They are at 120ohms so they are qenerally not good for portable use as you say. I can't complain about the sound quality itself, Only the volume, but that was to be expected. I tried them just for the fun of it. I also have a pair of koss porta pro and those where loud enough to make it uncomfortable instead. Hehe =)
  • It has quite clean sound but it lacks power. Lets say it really hates my AKG k601 phones. Like most portable products so nothing out of the ordinary there =) /Edit. Bad engrish
  • Same problem here, mate. Have not had much time playing around with it yet, but it seems to be releated to your problem since it only does it at home, when I have wireless turned on. Tank you for giving me a head start to where I should look =)
