  • I tried technical support but they were unable to help. In the end they suggested that I send the laptop back under warranty or pay £58!!!!! for a copy of the recovery drive on a usb stick.
  • Thanks, Laplander, I will try this. Tech support eventually gave up & suggested I return laptop under warranty. Did not want to do that & be without laptop for such a minor problem.
  • Tried doing a full format of the 32gb Kingston usb drive but it did not help. All was copied until the progress bar got to about 98% (just as for previous attempts) & then it just hung there. If anyone cannot suggest another solution I will be happy to try it..
  • I am having exactly the same problem as Steve with my Aspire v3-571. Have tried 4 times with same result using a 32gb Kingston usb drive that initially had never been use before. Emailed Acer tech support but all I got in response was a reply with links to stuff on their site which I had already read - not very helpful!…
