  • I decided to give it one last go and posted to social media about the issue. I got a call back 3 days later from 2nd level support. This gentleman (I won't mention his name as I don't want people asking JUST for him as there are other 2nd level folks out there) said that: 1. Acer was aware of the issue 2. There are…
  • This has been an issue for now almost 2 years since it was originally posted. There was a thread going on here of over 40 pages. In that we discussed possibilities. We had an Asus rep ask us many questions and a few of us RMAd. Those that did either got their monitor back saying nothing was found or another replacement…
  • This disappoints me but really shouldn't surprise me. Asus for over a year denied anything was wrong and the none person came on to say that they were able to replicate the issue, but never indicated if there was a fix or what we should do other than to send in our monitors via RMA. We found out during that year that even…
  • Greetings, There was another thread about this issue that was over 15 pages long that had Acer representatives talking to us about this issue. Apparently they had finally gotten a sample back from a customer and could duplicate the problem and then nothing. It seems that the whole thread is gone. Is there a reason for…
  • Let me know if any of this works, I have a similar issue with the x34 and using a Nvidia 970 and have to use HDMI.
  • Using the included base, no. Using a Vesa Mount that allows it to turn, then yes.
  • Unfortunately this doesn't work. The moment I restart the computer or turn off the monitor the DP is stating no connection. So unfortunately I really am thinking it is a conflict between the 970's and this monitor.
  • So I have gone through many pages of this forum and have seen that there have been several differnt monitors with this issue. The problem is I have never seen a solution. I did contact the Predator Tech support and I have to say I was honestly very disappointed. The two people I talked to, didn't even know that the x34…
  • Okay, it is now disabled. We'll see how it works tomorrow. Thanks for the info.
  • So Cory any ideas on this noise as to what it may be? I would like to know the following: Where exactly are the speakers on this monitor, kinda hard to tell. Are the speakers technically active if they aren't connected and the audio driver isn't installed via the GPU drivers? Have you had any issues with static electricity…
  • So I see what you are saying it is the driver. I went ahead and loaded up Driver version 353.62 and sli in window'ed mode works fine. Thanks for the help.
  • I figured this was an Nvidia issue which is why I haven't made a press or demanded an RMA. The monitor is still functioning very well, tho I am still worried about the issue of me turning it on and there is that "crackling" sound. Not sure if that is a speaker issue or a a static electricity issue like the old CRT montiors…
  • As I reported earlier I was having some issues with G-sync. It seems i'm having similar issues to you. If I turn it on and choose G-sync in FULL mode, everything is fine 100hz with FPS 100+. If I turn it on and choose G-sync in WINDOWED mode, the entire computer slows down. The little counter at the top says 100hz but if I…
  • Turned off audio from the video driver. Tried different DP. Still getting the crackling sound. It is always after it has been off a while, like it is heating up. Still unsure if it is coming from the speakers or the monitor itself. It seems to be coming from the back center so i'm assuming that is not the speakers?
  • DP shouldn't transmit Audio should it? Either way i turned off audio in the GPU settings and there is no speaker wire going to the monitor. It is just an odd sound. On one hand it sounds like a staticky speaker but on the other hand it sounds like the sound when you would turn on an old CRT monitor and there was static on…
  • No backlight issues here, never had it. It was an issue with the monitor being black and not being plug and play. The other issue is that in SLI mode the overclock only works in FULL screen. If i Choose WIndowed SLI.. the OC doesn't work at all and in fact i'm down to about 20 hz.
  • So I broke down and did a reinstall. Monitor came up perfectly in 100hz, single profile and no issues with the Monitor Drivers which came up on their own just fine. So I believe that the problem is when you have had a previous monitor installed that had the capability of over 100Hz, there can be a conflict or confusion.…
  • Well I'll wait until I reinstall my OS when i get my new SSD. Glad to hear it worked out for you.
  • So the reinstall happened. You were able to install the GPU driver and OC the monitor and it came up with no issues using the DP? SLI Good?
  • Let me know how this goes. I'm going to be doing a reformat when i get my Samsung 950 pro SSD m.2 in later next week and i'd be very interested in knowing if that fixes it.
