  • Ha! Maybe I should have checked the installed driver first! It's 10.18.10.4276. Why on earth does the updater want me to install on older driver? Bizarre. While I'm here, there's often comment about removing bloatware to improve performance. What should be uninstalled?
  • Thanks Phil-3 (and whiskey) It's sad that members find that they need to offer solutions contrary to Acer's advice due to the inability or unwillingness of Acer to provide their own solutions to problems such as mine. The bluetooth driver dates from 2006 if my properties file is correct. How can a device using 8.1 be using…
  • thanks again billsey Yes, that looks like the same driver. Seems odd that it would be so old. I did check on the Atheros site and there's one from early last year 8.000 etc. I downloaded it but couldn't get it to install. I might try again from a USB stick. It's driving me crazy. I got the keyboard for a reason. If I'm…
  • Hi billsey Tried that, left keyboard plugged in to wall socket and it still dropped off so it doesn't appear to be a charging issue. I'm convinced it's a driver issue but I can't update the driver. The update options are greyed out. It ooks like i need to log in as admin but thought I already was so I'm stumped. cheers…
  • Am I really the only person who is having this problem? Acer techs, any hints? I'm running 8.1 with latest windows updates about a couple of weeks ago. Is it a driver issue? I have bluetooth USB module driver 8.0.1.316 and bluetooth keyboard driver 6.3.9600.17093 cheers peter
  • just looking at the driver history and 8.4 was uninstalled and 7.2 installed. I'll go check Acer for drivers
  • I have a similar issue but it started straight after I updated the bluetooth driver earlier this week. It appears to pair and then it won't work next time i attempt to type. Are there any power settings for the bluetooth or keyboard? I was about to post a question on here asking if anyone was having similar issues and I…
  • I'm now getting the ghosting after upgrading to 8.1. Bizarre
  • Thnaks again Sharanji Sadly the tablet is beyond chat support and is waiting for a courier to take it back for repair cheers peter
  • Sadly it's all packed up and going back to Acer. We tried deactivating the Acer ring and amazingly it would just switch itself back on. Acer's suggestion was to do a full system install. Of course we didn't have an optical drive so another $80 later we started the system reset... and after many hours it achieved nothing.…
  • Thanks Sharanji Oh well, I'm in Australia, so no chat for me. I'll wait and see if Acer responds to my technical support question... Pete
  • Hi billsey No, no screen protector. The problem is getting worse. I switched it on last night to show some friends some photos that I'd posted to facebook and the touch 'impressions' appeared on the windows home page straight away. Then random apps started opening. So very disaapointed. We're still wondering if it could…
  • thanks for that. Nope, didn't help. It seems somehow associated to the Acer Ring application. That's where the multi touches all over the screen first appear and then they carry to other screens, or if you hit the Windows button various pages/applications attaempt to open. I've sent something to Acer support. I'll see what…
