  • Hi Laurent_14, It's the latest download which I downloaded 2 weeks ago. As my luck seems to be all bad lately, a catastrophy hit last friday when I lost everything. I'm now in the middle of setting up again before I put my files back on. My problem with Acer was just the Homepage not loading correctly, I could move around…
  • Hi Caparton, I'm afraid you sent your request to the wrong person, you need to ask it of this person at this message post. He is the one to ask about the differences he encountered. If you click on this link it should take you to his message where you can resend your message and ask him.…
  • Hi, I'm glad you got it sorted, even though Acer didn't honour their warranty. $95 is a lot better than the $250 they wanted. Cheers Wally69
  • Becca40 I forgot to tell you if you intend in having someone else do this and your looking for a screen I found a place in Qld that has O/night delivery, depending on where you are of course. I found them by just Googling ''15.6 inch Laptop replacement touch screen'' They had screens in all sizes, you could give that a…
  • Hi Becca, If you dropped your laptop and broke the screen there is only one way you can go, ring Acer on the support phone number. It is 1300 365-100 They will arrange for you to mail it in for the repair, but it will cost you approximately $220 If you have access to another computer they could send what you need as an…
  • Hi Baishface, Your question of how did I get my screen replaced is I never ever admitted fault because there was no fault on my part. Now whether my circumstances had anything to do with it I don't know. My Acer never leaves it's position on a small rolling adjustable table I use because I have Mobility problems and that…
  • In regard to the cracked screen In my V5 751-PG. I'm happy to report that Acer did do the right thing and honoured their warranty. My laptop came back with a new touch screen and it looks and works just like a new one. If Acer were within their rights to refuse my warranty why would they repair it with no charge. The…
  • Hi In answer to your question I'm reasonably sure a non touch can replace a touch screen, I have read that this can be done. My own case has progressed, I'm now at the stage where Acer have agreed to replace my touch screen and honour their warranty. Best of luck with your quest to replace your screen. Cheers Geoff
  • I hate to say this but Acer have done it again. When Kelvin rang me to say that my Aspire V5 would be repaired free of any charge it seems like it was just another tongue in cheek promise. They finally picked it up a week back but after ringing them today to see how long before I can expect to get it back I was told they…
  • Another update on the saga over WARRANTY If you have been watching to see how this pans out, well it looks like it just may end on a happy note. I received a email inviting me to fill out a Survey on Acer. One that asked what your thoughts were on the different sections of Acer. Needless to say I gave them the lowest…
  • This tale just gets sillier & sillier. After receiving word that Acer were going to repair my touch screen free of charge they sent me a Consignment Label and Courier Manifest. The Courier was to pick it up on Wednesday the 7th of november. Today, Monday the 11th november, and still no sign of the Courier I rang Acer and…

  • I thought I had better let you all know that I have some good news for you over my previous post. You will recall that I gave up complaining to Acer over the cracked touch screen in my V5 Aspire and put my complaint in the hands of the Department of Fair Trading. Five days later I received a phone call to tell me that Acer…
  • On my Aspire the USB 3.0 has a thin blue line across the top. It is closest USB to the rear of the unit. Cheers Wally69
  • You have far more patience than I have. My problem only happened last week and after two phone conversations I stepped away from Acer. The first support technician did not want to have anything to do with my problem which was a cracked touch screen crystal. He put me onto a case manager, the rudest service person I have…
