  • @Jeyam @StevenGen Just checked again, electricity does run to the laptop since I can read 19.29V on the power jack port when the laptop is plugged in. But when it is not plugged in, I read a 5.9-ish volts for the power jack port. Battery is currently at 12.98V. Here's what's weird, I tried plugging in the old battery and…
  • @Jeyam The charging port looks fine. I'm currently checking whether the laptop is receiving electricity when plugged in with the battery. The adapter is currently outputting 19.29V and is lighting up on the brick, is it possible that it's dead still?
  • How would I know if the safety switch flips? The adapter lights up btw, and just tested the output voltage of the charger which is 19.29V.
  • Sharanji said: Thank you so so much for this insight! This was the answer/input I was searching for from my recent past post. I have already bought a battery though but I'll try checking if the brick really is the problem. It might take me a few days to see but I'll do my best to send the results here.
  • The indicator lights up orange for a few seconds. After that, both blue and orange indicators light up, as if it's saying that it's full and charging at the same time... I've already tested the charger before and it's outputting 19V which is what it should be outputting so the charger has no problem. I am able to use the…
  • I did say I was able to boot the laptop before without the battery, but it's just this time the laptop won't boot without the battery. In fact, I was able to use the laptop last night without the battery. Thanks anyway for the answer, I do plan to buy another battery sometime when I am able to get a computer so that my…
  • I think so, since it doesn't recognize the battery anymore. I'll try it. Anyways, I'll set this thread as solved so thanks for the support!
  • Charger works fine, and the multimeter responds to both ends of the power adapter. I'm suspecting it could be either the battery that is dead, or something in the hardware since as soon as I plug in the charger in the laptop, the charge light (orange light) only lights up for about 30 seconds and then it goes out. Not only…
  • My brother knows how to use one, so I'll let him test it. By power adapter, you mean the one inside the laptop, yes?
  • I have tried it before and held the power button for 30 seconds. Nothing changed. I'll try it again later today. Anything more I can do other than doing that or pushing in the pinhole at the back?
  • i cant seem to run the hwinfo64
  • WAIT! I just opened up my laptop even without the orange light, and it booted but with an X on my battery logo. I'll be checking the status now.
  • I can't, since the battery is drained and when I plug my laptop to the charger, the orange light only appears for 30-45 seconds, and then after that, I think the laptop doesn't then recognize that it is plugged in.
  • It's an Acer 575G-54YE
  • the circuitry i mean. you did suggest that i try to unplug everything inside and replug it
  • Thanks for the reply! I'll try that as soon as possible. The disk checking never went more than 12%. It either only shuts down, or restarts and goes in a loop of diagnosing the laptop again and asking me what to do after the unexpected shutdown (suggesting that a restart usually fixes the problem) One thing for sure…
