  • That's quite possible, as I just had to restart it and the Battery icon on the taskbar shows it at 0%. However, I've also seen it do this at or near full charge. If so, I'll have to find a way to back up /home/ME, as that's where all of the data I don't want to lose is.
  • Thanx egydiocoelho, Fn+F7 did the trick, once I had the time to test it.
  • If so, it's still under warranty. I was hoping that it was just stuck and there was a way to unstick it. I'll report back when I know.
  • You do understand, egydiocoelho, that power-cycling the laptop didn't help, so it's probably not software related.
  • I know how to deal with the BIOS, I needed to find out how to get into it.
  • I don't know what you mean by "internally at Recovery," but I do know that pressing the F2 key on this laptop during either a cold boot or restart doesn't work; it just gets ignored. And, I know that the USB works because I've booted other computers into Xubuntu using it but never from inside Windows. In fact, I've no idea…
