  • Hi, I appreciate you providing your feedback despite this being quite an old post... I'm glad that the repaste worked for you because when I tried it it made barely any difference and I was frustrated... I decided to disassemble the fans in the laptop and that's where I found my problem... There was a lot of dust clogging…
  • Ive seen this issue for many people who try out Apex Legends... It happened to me too, no matter what settings i tried to change in game, I was getting really low FPS... I then checked the Nvidia control panel and found that by default Apex Legends was set to run using the Intel HD Graphics which, as everyone knows, is…
  • Not sure if anyone will reply but... Just a few minutes ago I was playing the Wither 3 on my Helios 300 G3-571 and I heard 2 beeps and it only happened once... Does anyone know what it could be or point towards....?
  • I seem to have the same problem with my 7700HQ model and I have repasted with Cooler Master Mastergel Pro, undervolted both the CPU and GPU following videos made by @HotelHero and yet the laptop keeps reaching high 80s to 90s on both CPU and GPU.. Honestly don't know what to do...
  • I noticed I'm having heating issues too, except my Helios 300 has the 7700HQ and Ive tried re-pasting the CPU, undervolting both the CPU (-115 mV) and I undervolted the 1060 using the tutorial @HotelHero made and yet my both my CPU and GPU are reaching 90s... :(
  • yeah it is but most of the new drivers are just game ready drivers for new releases that don't make a difference to the games I'm currently playing... in fact they just created more issues... like the CPU overheating...
  • I noticed high temps (high 90s) too on my Helios 300 for some time about a month ago... I recently rolled back my Nvidia drivers to version 391.01 and the temps have gone back to normal averaging around 78 degrees and only spiking up to 84 degrees... I also applied an undervolt of -110mV.
  • Well I finally got to resetting my windows... And updated all the drivers to their latest versions and the problem persisted so I looked into the Nvidia Drivers... I noticed that there were quite a few updates around the time the problem showed up... So I went back to a version of the driver which didn't show any problems…
  • Following @Red-Sand's tutorial you can undervolt the 1060/1050ti in the notebook...It didn't work for me but everyone seems to be having success with it... so I thought maybe me having the latest driver is causing issues with the undervolt...
  • @Red-Sand, could it be that my GPU undervolt isn't working right because I am on version 398.11 of Nvidia driver for my 1060?
  • I tried reinstalling them as you suggested earlier... Unfortunately it didn't make any difference... I appreciate your effort to try and help me with my issue.. Thanks a lot...
  • I think I will just reset windows and try CPU undervolt alone to see if it returns to the way my temps used to be... If not I guess I'll have to repaste with my CoolerMaster Mastergel Pro as a final effort
  • Did as you said.... temps (High 80s) stayed the same in Novigrad where CPU usage is around 50-60%... I decided to leave the area into the wild where the CPU usage is 38-45% expecting the temps to drop to the 70s... but they remained in the 80s.. only slightly lower than in Novigrad...
  • I went back and checked all the settings and the 'start with windows' wasn't checked... I checked it... and did everything again.... Still no difference in temps however I noticed a increase in GPU clock speed... getting temps in the high 80s for CPU and around 75 for GPU in Novigrad of Witcher 3 (Same as before).....
  • I started my notebook, loaded up MSI Afterburner and loaded the profile and clicked the tick icon.I then rebooted the notebook and repeated the above process. I also started up throttlestop for the CPU undervolt. Ran the unigine valley benchmark tool... However the temps were the same as no GPU undervolt....
  • Maybe I did it wrong :/... So after turning it my laptop on... I should load the profile, then hit the tick icon and reboot? Then after rebooting, I should load the profile and hit the tick icon again? Then start the game?
  • I followed your instructions on the GPU overclock/undervolt profile and unfortunately it didn't make much of a difference only 1 fps increase in unigine valley and the temps were only about 3 degrees lower in the benchmark... In the Witcher 3 the temps became worse and the CPU hit the 90s again...
  • Thank you very much for the clarification :) ... I'll give the overclock/undervolt profile a shot and check benchmark scores
  • So I watched the video and there's a profile that you show overclock/undervolt... you say we should flat-line at 1885Mhz but your graph shows you flat-lining around 1900Mhz... Which do I follow? Also in the profile where you show stock performance with undervolt.... Why does your graph flat-line at 1822Mhz when the stock…
  • Just a quick update... I lowered my undervolt to -110mV and for some reason the temps have decreased while playing Witcher 3... Although the Limits Tab shows BDPROCHOT for both the CPU and GPU
