  • Alright. Only with a heat gun then (not anything besides that)? Which part do you mean? Could you mark it out? Thanks
  • I'm unsure of what you mean. I tried connecting the laptop via HDMI to a TV screen. Both without and with the LCD-cable connection. I tried all the TV's outlets for HDMI and I did this with 2 different HDMI cables. In all cases, the TV screen only displayed "no signal". Did you mean this, or something else?
  • Tried what I proposed. Nothing happened on the monitor. Booting the laptop with the LCD-cable disconnected does not make the laptop's screen flash.
  • So, I tried what you just wrote. Then I plugged back the battery and tried to start the laptop. No success; pressing fn + f5 doesn't help. I connected the laptop to the external monitor. No luck. Tried rebooting it but that didn't help either. Can I remove the battery => remove the LCD-cable => attach the battery => attach…
  • This one? Should I unplug it and try with the external monitor again?
  • Hmm, no. I don't recall this, nor do I know how this would be done. Is this something I can do right now? While searching I found this: https://www.acer.com/ac/en/ID/content/support-product/6379;- I do not remember using this at any time though.
  • No, the external screen does not flash. When I have the laptop connected to the external screen via HDMI cable and the external screen is powered on, the external screen says that no HDMI is connected/detected. Then the external screen enters sleep mode I guess, as it goes black but is still powered, and responds to its…
  • The difference comes with the exchanged RAM card: the blue light (and thus the power) stays on when releasing the power button. The screen still makes an initial flash when powered.
  • Tried both. Also tried with only F5 / F6, if the options would've been reversed. Nothing happens on either screen.
  • Inserting both the old and new RAM-cards produces the old error, causing the laptop to shut off after a second or so. With only the working RAM connected, I notice something like a black flash on the screen when it is turned on and off. The "blackness" of the screen doesn't change during the time that the laptop is on.…
  • I've tried connecting it to a working external monitor, but all I get from it, using a HDMI to HDMI cable is something along the line of "NO HDMI DETECTED". The monitor is in HDMI mode.
  • So, I'm back. The RAM seems to work, as the blue light stays on. It does also stay on if I plug in the HDD. Same if I also have the battery plugged in. However, the screen doesn't turn on in any of the cases. The fan does spin at least.
  • When choosing RAM, is there more than 204 pin and DDR3 that must be specific?
  • Can the testing hurt the second laptop? Dang, I've only got a non-laptop PC with DD3 RAM, haha.
  • Is there a way to test the card to see if it is broken without buying a new one? If I buy a new one and the same problem persists... what is this an indicator of? (If it's currently possible to say that).
  • Yes, indeed. I meant that I applied little pressure onto the RAM card from different directions to see if it didn't attach properly.
  • Cleaned it. Tried both sockets again, but with the same result. "Hold it down." I held down the RAM card in different directions, and also tried the clamps, while trying to start the PC. Same result.
  • If I use the other RAM socket I have the same result, but with the blue light remaining turned on for a brief longer (like a full second).
  • Power unplugged when replacing parts. Power plugged in when starting. 1) yes. 2) no. The blue light flashes but turns off directly. I can't remeber it being like this yesterday. The RAM was tricky to reinsert.
  • That one doesn't seem to exist for me.
