  • ACERs software support is awful! Some weeks ago when I got my hands on the RTM build of Windows 8.1, I made a clean install! Deleted all partitions and let the W8.1 Setup do them. After that I installed ONLY the missing drivers! W8.1 have integrated drivers for the WiFi, Bluetooth and some other things. The difference in…
  • Out of the 128GB you actually have 109GB for C: drive. The rest is for the Recovery partition and UEFI partition. Windows 8 and the programs that come with it (the ACER installed ones) take 20 something GB of storage and the several (hundred) updates take same more space so you are about right with what you have now!
  • Windows 8.1 will be released in Q4!! October or November maybe! Certainly Not during BUILD! Then only a beta preview version will be made public, nothing more!
  • I flased mine without any problems! The only thing that stopped working was my Android dual boot but simple reflash will restore the UEFI dual boot loader I had installed! The Windows Part is perfectly fine exept for the standart problems that this Tablet have! WiFi and Throttling!
  • The problem is with Chrome! It doesn't scale the screen right! By default the W700 is set to 125% display scaling but if you change it to 100%, Chrome will work normally! There is one problem thou.... At 1920x1080 everything is very small at 100% display scaling!
  • After the whole fiasco with W700, I thought that ACER will at least try to fix things! Instead they release even more models with the same problems! No more ACER Products for me!
  • Yes, there is still no response from ACER on the matter.... Even the size of the file is not right!
  • If your W700 came without Recovery disks, then it have a Recovery partition! Mine came without disks too.
  • There is no key for Windows 8 powered devices! At least not as we know it. It is integrated in the UEFI BIOS of the device and Windows 8 recognizes it during installation! I've seen many devices with factory installed Windows 8 and none of them had a product key writen on them!
  • Whatever they did, they didn't fix the throttling issues! Nothing has changed in this department!

  • You Can't! You will need to redesign the program from scratch to make it work on Android OS!
  • First, don't believe what Windows tells you! Second, don't believe what ACER states in the spec sheet!
  • When are you pressing them? I can allways go to the bios when: Fist shutdown the tablet, then while holding Windows button push and hold for a sec the power button. This should start the tablet again and go directly to BIOS! I tried this several times some days ago when I messed up my OS and had to boot from a USB HDD for…
  • The automatic way is supposed to be the ACER Updater but as have found yourself it is not working right... as usual....
  • Nope! You can only achieve this with a 3G USB Stick or a MiFi

It is imposiible to change the bit version (32/64) of the OSin such a way!!! The only way…
  • sengf wrote:haha....no choose , not always used the scanner, no meaning to buy a new scanner , that's means i cant do anything right? Most probably you can't! If by any chance there are 64 bit drivers for Windows 7for your scanner, you can try them (most Windows 7 drivers work on Windows 8) If not, you are out of luck! I…
  • It is so big because there are two drivers in it! WiFi and Bluetooth! The Bluetooth software is more than 100MB alone. And the drivers are made by Atheros (the manufacturer of the WiFi/Bluetooth board) so ACER are not to blame about the size at least! BTW in the package there are two more folders that only have the…
  • Photoshop 7 is a Very old software! It may not work correctly even on 32bit Windows 8! As for the twain drivers, if the manufacturer don't have 64bit drivers for your device then it is a really old device or a really bad Manufacturer! You can't expect to run brand new Hardware/OS with really old peripherals/Software, can…
