  • Hi,Nice choice of notebook, I have one also, they are pretty awesome !The primary storage is an M2 SSD which is fine where it is and you don't need to touch it. Buy yourself a 1TB SATA HDD, 9.5mm or 7mm is fine and just fit it as an additional drive in the HDD bay on the underside of the unit. Personally I prefer having a…
  • Just had a read of the Acer promise myself, here is a snippet : By purchasing a qualified Acer professional product until 31st of December 2018 and registering it within 30 days, will allow you now to claim 100% refund of the full price paid if your Acer device develops a fault and is repaired under warranty within the…
  • You have your LaunchManager.exe setup program ? Right click and select troubleshoot compatibility, select to run it as XP..... you may get lucky
  • I just got an AXC 603 also but the Freedos version (as it was cheaper than a version with windows licensed). They are pretty new so no suprise noone mentioned them just yet. Although a quad core processor it is a celeron (at least the one I purchased) so the cache in the thing is considerably less (2meg)than a full-on…
  • In the UK I get sent an SMS text message as I make sure when logging the job I give my mobile phone number. You are best to telephone your Acer call centre to find out what they do as I know different countries do different things.
  • If you want your fun little AOA150 to go fast then I would consider fitting an SSD hard drive. Be careful with the AOA150 as there is only 1 socket to put additional RAM into and this is max 1gb if my memory serves me right !
  • Hi Ragingmadman, Sounds like a combination of events has resulted in a mashed up hard drive. Firstly the acer recovery management software prompts the user to make a backup when it is first used. Most users ignore this and tick in the box not to be reminded again which of course is a huge error of judgement. Secondly, the…
  • It is standard to return a laptop from where it was picked up. This is done by parcel courier. I have known some couriers who will let a neighbour sign for it and then they put a note through your door. Ultimately, the best thing to do it telephone the call centre and ask for the current location of your laptop. I hope…
  • Normally on your mainboard ram sockets is a sticker which will start with MB Take the first 10 digits, for example MBEFN01002 and put in some dots to make it a part number : MB.EFN01.002 Google the mainboard part number If you have no sticker if you post up the first 10 digits of your computers serial number maybe I can…
  • Download/run Microsoft fixit : http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows_update/en-us This seems to be a great program for resolving windows update issues.
  • Can you please go into the control panel > Device Manager > Mice & other pointing devices > (right click) Properties > Details ? Hardware ID and provide the information in there ? I am looking for the VID & PID numbers which will declare what hardware is inside your machine so we can make sure you have the correct drivers…
  • What method did you use to return your OS to Win8 instead of W8.1 ? I open a run box and type shutdown /r /o When the computer reboots you are in the advanced boot menu where you can select to have the OS wiped back to factory defaults. If your computer was reset to factory defaults then you should be back to day 1 of when…
  • How odd. I was unaware Acer make their own flash player software. I would personally elect to install Adobe flash player from : http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ That should get rid of the pop up, I hope ! Good luck
  • I recommend finding the following part : WIRELESS LAN ATHEROS HB95 BGN (HM) You can always ask to buy the item from Acer, part number NI.23600.047 I also imagine you can find pretty much any internal wlan N card will fit, however the one listed above is the official part.
  • AS10D51 is a battery which goes into the V3-772G so yes go for it ! Just bear in mind compatible batteries from 3rd party sources generally are of a lower quality and lifespan. I have found ultimately it makes sense to buy the official part from the company itself as you will save money (and headaches) in the long run. The…
  • Ok so FPS drop down after 10 mins of playing, maybe your graphics card gets so warm that it is clocking back on speed to cool down. Get a can of compressed air (air duster) and blast the ventilation points on your your unit to clear out any dust stuck inside causing it to heat up. Can you head the fan inside working hard ?
  • Read this review of your laptop : http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/laptops/1304101/acer-aspire-v3-772g Graphics drivers can be downloaded from http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-uk Make sure your power management is set to High Performance for another thing ! Happy Gaming !
  • I think with the W700 you do the backup/recovery using a 16GB+ flashstick. However if you purchase an external USB DVD drive then you can use the standard method for performing a backup. Personally I set windows updates to not download anything unless I tell it to......can't be having microsoft run your computer (and…
  • If you break down the value you get from spending £55 you can probably agree it is not a bad deal : £20 for postage & insurance both ways. £35.71 for geting it booked in, passed to a technician, password removed & unit QC tested. I can tell you from previous experience to get the job done you need 3 hands........so it is…
  • You would have had the option to burn your own recovery set of discs using the inbuilt Acer erecovery management software - which is awesome by the way. As you do not have a set of backup discs to return your computer to factory default you can always order a set (and pay the fee) from Acer. You don't get something for…
