  • Check the CPU and GPU temperatures during load (Aida, GPUZ, CPUZ). Probably you need to clean the CPU cooler (and replace the thermal paste).
  • You could try a Turion TL58 or even higher, íf you don't keep it ramped up to 100% for hours on end, you won't have to worry about the heat. 4G RAM would be good too, 2G is marginal for Win7 A SSD would give you a real speed boost, try replacing the DVD with a HDD caddy and you could have SSD+HDD, plenty of speed and…
  • Yeah, that's exactly the type of BIOS upgrade that I expect for my 5349 to allow me to use better spec (latencies and speed) memory....right now is stuck at 1066... Please show some printscreens form AIDA, do some benchmarks too, memory read/write from AIDA. Thanks.
  • If you have the Pentium SU2700, you can't because it is soldered to the MB. How is the CPU slowing the PC down, it is pemanently on 100% usage? As an upgrade, I would recomand a SSD.
  • What kind of HyperX? Blue, Red, Black, PNP? There are several reviews on the web that show that HyperX PNP can make you RAM work faster, 1600/1866. http://www.legitreviews.com/kingston-hyperx-8gb-1866mhz-pnp-memory-kit-for-notebooks_1599/3
  • I use Aida64, CPU-Z, GPU-Z (GPU is onboard). Question: does anyone with 5349 see 1333MHz? If yes, what BIOS version and what date? I have a weird thing about BIOS, AIDA says BIOS version 1.08 2011, but on acer.support it says BIOS 1.08 05.2012, a bit weird.
  • You could try T8100(2.1) or T8300(2.4), both are an evolution of the Merom core that you have: 45nm, 3M L2 cache, 800FSB and dynamic overclock (both jump 200Mhz if OS requires). They are relatively cheap right now. T8300 is an excelent replacement if you don't need the 6M L2 cache of the T9xxx series. T7xxx series are good…
  • The bios version is already 1.08. Weird thing is that it says in Aida that the BIOS is dated 29.11.2011....
