  • I've found the update causing the problem. It is an optional update from Intel system- 1/1/1970 12.00am 10.1.1.42 which unistalled the driver and installed nothing back. So basically, I'm an eejit and been beating myself to death for nothing. Lol.
  • It's in optional updates from Intel, so I've just not updated them this time and its working fine.
  • I've installed erecovery andwaa having trouble with the realtek driver, which I now hope I've cleared by resetting and seems to have worked. I hope.
  • I've booted it through the bios menu via F2, though if you aren't happy with using a pc, this can be a bit disconcerting. Had I known it was just going to boot normally, I could have just gone through settings /reset/advanced start, but as they don't give you instructions, how would anyone know unless you know? Thanks for…
  • Thanks. I've took the cowards way out because I'm sick of it now and ordered a rescue stick off Acer. It was that or put it through the window.
  • Off a flashdrive with the ISO downloaded from microsoft. It was what I was advised to do as the problem was reinstalling itself if I tried anything else and was crashing. It all seems to be fine otherwise now, though it is annoying as its only 12 months old. id've took it back but for lockdown and hearing stories of…
  • Thanks for your replies. I tried the printer route but it was still the same. After much rending of cloth, I reinstalled again which then threw up a different problem with the audio driver. The Realtek console won't open and i kept getting red X's at the side of the icon on taskbar which said no audio driver installed.…
  • There isn't anything with any of these options. It doesn't matter how thin it is if you use headphones, you still need to adjust them. I've looked in all the usual places and there just isn't one for some reason. Thanks for your help.
  • I haven't got any of these options. I've had the Realtek equalizer before but I just can't find it anywhere on this Acer. There's a Realtek app that is next to useless as its only got 3 settings, all of them bad. It's such a shame as it's got great speakers etc, it's just hampered by this lack of equalizer. It's stupid.
