  • Well, on second thought, a defective heat sensor, like in the old Dell Dimension 3000 series would cause the fan to overwork and make a noise. In my Dell it sounds like a small jet engine, but depending upon the hardware and the placement of the fan, it could also produce a whining noise.

  • Respect to everyone asking or responding on this particular issue. Look, the problem that Kasper has has nothing to do with coil winding or the fan.
