Respect to everyone asking or responding on this particular issue. Look, the problem that Kasper has has nothing to do with coil winding or the fan.  It is a high whiny noise from the speakers, accompanied by an echo.  They become unbearable once the volume is about 30 and over.  If one reduces the sound volume to 25 out of 100, it is significantly diminished and one can live with it.  I tried switching from the internal speaker of my Aspire laptop to a pair of inexpensive USD/pin speakers and that solved the problem--ONCE, about two-three weeks ago.  Today I tried it again and it did not work.  Something has to be done to eliminate this terribly annoying sound issue. There are tech suggestions on the www from various sources but the ones which mention the fan are not relevant.  This is a speaker issue.  Perhaps it is the driver which must be updated or even maybe replaced because it is defective.  I don't know.  Please, though, concentrate upon the speakers when addressing this issue.  I want to update my driver but I am afraid that may have unintended consequences.  I have read articles criticizing driver updating software.  Sitting on my hands waiting for a proper response which will fix this problem. If I cannot find a proper fix on the net, I will have to hire a local tech.

Oh, sorry, I meant Karsten.  I have been watching "Borgen" on Netflix and one of the main characters is named "Kasper."

Well, on second thought, a defective heat sensor, like in the old Dell Dimension 3000 series would cause the fan to overwork and make a noise.  In my Dell it sounds like a small jet engine, but depending upon the hardware and the placement of the fan, it could also produce a whining noise.
