  • Hey brother, I just got a refurbed SW5-173 from NewEgg that is like brand new but after a couple weeks it started the exact same card reader problem. Mounts and after 30 seconds, maybe a minute, and sometimes a few minutes, it unmounts. Over and over again. I researched and found nothing on this issue except your post.…
  • The older Switch 10 SW5-011 has that app and I installed it on my newer SW5-012 but it has no feature to turn off LumiFlex.
  • I did it to my Acer W4 and Switch 10. If you have to pay for it it's not worth it unless you have a specific need for the few extras it gives you otherwise you won't notice any difference. The only reason I did it is because I purchased several Pro Keys from MS for 15 bones each when they were offering them to those who…
  • Well, apparently the keyboards for the older Switch 10 SW5-011 and the SW5-012 are different. At least the magnet placements are. I took my newer Switch 10 keyboard back plastic cover strip off and reversed the right side magnet and now both sides magnetically attach properly.
  • Well, I guess we in the U.S. don't get the goodies on this yet. I wonder if I can order one from a Euro source and get it in U.S. English. Actually, I do speak 7 languages quite fluently. Other than English, I speak American, Canadian, British, Irish, Scottish and Australian. And quite fluently I don't mind saying. But I…
  • Bro, 32bit architecture is referring to the O/S, Windows 32bit. The Baytrail Z3735 as well as the Z3740 (on the W4) are 64bit processors. A 64bit processor is designed to be used with a 64bit O/S, Windows 64bit. So there should be no problem installing Windows 8.1 64bit on the Switch 10 or the W4.
  • Except that virtually every current Switch 10 product says 1280x800 in the summary and specs except the older and no longer available SW5-011-11JE which says 1366x768. The link in my previous post is specifically for the Switch 10 products. "the Aspire Switch 10 is a stunning device you will want to share. Full HD1 (1920 x…
  • For the HDMI to work you need to download and install the "Driver" package. Updating your "Bios" is always good but it's the "Driver" package that will install the ability to "Clone" the screen to the TV and put the Intel Graphics Icon on your bottom right task bar with the features and adjustments you can make.
  • If you didn't follow the step I listed above using the command prompt then Hybernate is not properly and completely disabled.
  • I'm not sure if it's a Win 8 prob or an Acer firmware prob. All I know is my tablet can sleep all day now and wake up without a glitch. I never used the Windows Hybernate feature on my PC's or Laptops in years past because deep sleep Hybernate feature always seemed to have issues. I'm leaning toward it's a Win 8 issue as…
  • Bro, follow these instructions which will eliminate deep hybernate sleep: In desktop mode bottom left corner Windows logo hold finger down a couple seconds and lift for pop up menu. Choose Command Promp (Admin) and type: powercfg.exe /hibernate off Hit enter. Done. Tablet will regular sleep and easily wake but not deep…
  • Go back and scroll down to my post "Sleep Problem Fixed".
  • No. But I found it, sort of. http://store.acer.com/store/aceramer/en_US/pd/ThemeID.35703000/productID.299206800/parentCategoryID.66266700 The one that comes with the tablet is smaller more cube shaped like this one. USB port facing straight out instead of up or down. These have a seperate AC prong that snaps or twists on.…
  • To "jhutcheon" Bro, go to the main Acer home page and click on "Support" then on the link below for "Drivers And Manuals". Input your tablet model number and you'll get the links for Driver Package, Bios, etc.
  • Wellllll, I down'd and installed the driver package and now I have an Intel HD Graphics Control Panel on my taskbar with a bunch of settings and options. I can now change to "Duplicate" screen or "Clone" screen setting and it now "Clones" the screen like it should! Works perfectly! When I do that with my TV a message pops…
  • What about this: I updated the Bios but not the Driver set. There is a Driver set to download for the W4 but how can I know if my unit already has these drivers or older ones and needs to be updated?
  • Well, first, I have not installed any programs or apps of any kind. I just uninstalled a few apps that came with the tablet that I didn't need. There is no settings issues. You either set the timer for when the tablet goes to sleep or set to never. No matter what, it will not come out of sleep. So I set to never sleep.…
