  • Replaced battery. Seems to be working fine now. Thanks!
  • I ordered a battery. Any special trick to installing it other than after removing bottom cover, unplug and remove old battery, install and plug in new one? Any setting or configurations?
  • I've done all of the above, but the laptop still shuts down on battery after about an hour or so with no warning, so the battery has probably seen better days. I'll just replace it. No big deal. Appreciate all the help. I know much more about the battery system now. Thanks!
  • Thanks, if all else fails, I will just get a new battery.
  • When it shuts down, it's usually after an hour or two. Yes, when I reset the battery, the charger was not connected. I thought I read somewhere to press and hold the paperclip for at least 5 seconds, but I will do it again for at least 30 seconds, assuming the computer needs to be shut down while doing that?
  • Nothing happened that I can tell. I had reset the battery from the pinhole on the bottom of the laptop and the battery light didn't flash anymore but the computer was still shutting down on battery after a while. It seems to work fine otherwise on power supply. Maybe I just need a new battery?
  • I just reset the battery from the small battery reset hole on the bottom of the laptop with a straightened paper clip. The amber light is not flashing anymore. Not sure what resetting the battery did, but it worked.
