  • Hi laurent_14 When there was no answer forthcoming I returned to searching the internet after many hours I finaly stumbled upon another web site/forum that offerd the same solution as you just did and low and behold if fixed the problem. Thanks
  • After doing a lot of research on this it seems there is no soft ware solution for this it seems to be a fault with the DVD unit. The solution is replace it.
  • has any one got a solution to this?
  • Tried your second suggestion first as I did not need the drive letters, but sadly it failed to solve the problem. I an utterly astonished that the Hard Drive could break down right now the timing of it is unbelievable. I'll test the HD on the other computer, lol I've spent many days using one computer to find a fix for the…
  • Oddly enough I was looking at the same web page you suggested as a solution but I can not find out the letters assigned to the drives I know the Hard drive is H but I do not know the letter assigned to the CD. Any way of finding this out from command prompt?
  • laurent_14 "Re: Aspire E380 Realtek HD Audio Manager keeps popping up ‎01-24-2014 03:48 PM Hello Bodi, You have many problems! 1- Have you cleaned your desktop with an air bomb? 2- Check the usb connectors on the motherboard. 2- Check the battery voltage in the bios utility. 3- In the bios utility, "Load the default…
  • Hi Pioneer I did as you suggested and I could not find any thing in the "Start Up" tab or any other tab related to Realtek to uncheck. As I said I have completely uninstalled Realtek and did a fresh reinstall from a down load from the Realtek web site and the problem persists. I googled the problem and it seems quite…

I'll reset the bios defaulkts again see what happends.…
  • After the removal of some hard ware I can confirm the USB situation is not power related. Any other suggestions? Edit :- In another post of mine it was suggested that I reset the bios to default settings, this resulted in my having to reset the first boot back to the Hard drive but thus far it seems to have solved the USB…
  • It may well be power related, but what I have neglected to mention is that this computer is one of twins. Yes I have two identical computers both bought at the same time and both upgraded in the exact same ways and the other one suffers no such afflictions. But all the same power could well be the problem, I'll look into…
  • Ha ha nice one you know in the many years I have owned this Acer I have had untold hours doing battle with it to keep it running many parts have been replace I even got rid of Vista and installed XP on it. It has been a fairly good computer but boy have I done battle with it to keep it's old clock ticking. BTW It has a…
  • I found my answer in a responce to another thread. It seems that some how the wrong battery had been fitted and in my ignorance of this I yet again fitted the wrong battery this then compounded the problem further. It seems the usualy CMOS battery on the mother board is a CR 2032 3 v I have now fitted one to my MB. I'll…
  • Hi can I ask if you installed any drivers (may be from a CD that came with it) before installing the hard ware? The other post suggests a power pack problem take a look at the new hard ware instructions to see if you do need a stronger power pack. I upgraded my computer to a 500 watt power pack before making any up grades…
  • Good suggestions above but when cleaning be gentle use a vacume cleaner with a light brush head but be gentle
  • Hi it sounds like it is still under warranty so use that to solve the problem. Take it back to where you bought it or contact Acer.
  • Hi First I would like to say here Please do not be alarmed I could be wrong. I will not profess to be an expert but can I ask if all the fans are running. I had a problem like yours a while back with my computer I ended up replacing the MB and CPU it's never been quite the same since. Open it (if that dose not invalidate…
