My desktop was not shut off properly and when I went to restart it I get a black screen and thats it. No mouse no nothing.

I have tried unplugging the desktop, removing battery waiting 10 minutes putting it back in and still get black screen. Spamming F8 does not do anything my monitor just wont recognize the desktops hdmi.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi First I would like to say here Please do not be alarmed I could be wrong.

I will not profess to be an expert but can I ask if all the fans are running. I had a problem like yours a while back with my computer I ended up replacing the MB and CPU it's never been quite the same since.

Open it (if that dose not invalidate any warranty) and check to see if all the fans are running when you hit the power on button, if they are not running or start running then stop you may have MB problems or even a tired or burnt out CPU. It may also be worth checking the hard drive by plugging it into another computer to make sure that has not died, it could also be memory card related. There are many things you can check before you start replacing things.

Take baby steps here check every thing you possible can before going as far as a new MB or CPU. I would also advise you seek out some expert advice before replacing things. If you do go so far as replacing the MB your self Make sure to take a photo of the front panel plugs on the MB before you unplug them, finding how they go back later is a real night mare.

    Good Luck
