  • I think you fixed it! Don't know if it was the battery reset, tightening the screws, or both. It's been on battery power for several hours and no shut down. Many thanks!
  • Thanks, I have just done both things you suggest, now it's fingers crossed. All back screws were about one quarter turn loose. Interesting.
  • Re my Acer Nitro 5, AN515-51, I am not gaming or taxing the cpu in any way when the shut down occurs, usually I'm just surfing or using excel or quicken. 
  • I have the exact same problem. It occurs sometimes within 10-15 minutes of powering up. Really frustrating. I've done a Windows refresh several times and it seems to work for a few days, then the sudden power off occurs again. Really don't think it's overheating after so short a time. I have a Acer Nitro 5, AN515-51.
