My Acer nitro 5 sometimes shut down on its own while I am using it. A service center said its because of overheating but I don't think that's the case because the laptop shuts down even 15 minutes after starting. I've tried every solution on google and nothing works. please help.

    Hi,
Does this happen when you are using Battery only or using AC adapter as well? Did you open the back cover for any upgrades? Please post the full model name.

I have the exact same problem.  It occurs sometimes within 10-15 minutes of powering up. Really frustrating.  I've done a Windows refresh several times and it seems to work for a few days, then the sudden power off occurs again. Really don't think it's overheating after so short a time.  I have a Acer Nitro 5, AN515-51.

Re my Acer Nitro 5, AN515-51, I am not gaming or taxing the cpu in any way when the shut down occurs, usually I'm just surfing or using excel or quicken.

i had this problem before, try doing a internal battery reset and also tighten the screw in the ram cover, it worked for me.... instructions here https://us.answers.acer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/34843/~/acer-internal-battery-reset

Thanks, I have just done both things you suggest, now it's fingers crossed.  All back screws were about one quarter turn loose.  Interesting.

I think you fixed it!  Don't know if it was the battery reset, tightening the screws, or both.  It's been on battery power for several hours and no shut down.  Many thanks!
