  • No fix as far as I know and I am sure there won't be. Acer has moved on to new monitors that I beleive have working overdrive when using freesync / Gsync. I have since upgraded again and now have the LG 27GL850 with working overdrive with Freesync / Gsync. I used this LG with my Vega 64 LC and now with my Aorus 2080ti,…
  • It be nice if we could get the actual panel model/version, I think the A model might have upgraded to 2.6 from 2.3 (M270DAN02.6)
  • It could be the displayport 1.2 limitation, maybe if it had Displayport 1.3 or 1.4 it could do 144hz at 10bit. The X27 can't do 144hz 10 bit either @ 4:4:4:
  • It can do 10bit at 120hz and lower at 144hz it's 8bit the VG271UP does the same thing.
  • So it isn't Freesync 2 then, apparently that is required for Freesync to work with HDR. Have you tried both Displayport ports separately? What about the HDMI2.0 ports? Freesync can work on both DP and HDMI not sure about that monitor though.
  • Oh freesync doesn't work with duel Displayport cables which is needed for 4K 144hz 10 bit @ 4:4:4, the info is in the review.
  • There is a detailed review of the XV273K below. http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/acer_nitro_xv273k.htm
  • I ended up buying a Nixeus 27 EDG. It has the same panel but has 30-144hz and the overdrive works with freesync, it's awesome. I wish the Acer worked right, I really like it.
  • The nitro series most likely will have the same issue. They need their firmware development team to look into this otherwise the whole new Nitro series will be a failure. If Acer needs help use the services of these guys below if they don't already develop their firmware for Acer. Infact they make the hardware to test the…
  • I left out the photos on the second post. I wouldn't buy another monitor if overdrive was working with Freesync I actually really like the monitor and would love it if it worked as advertised. I would love the XF270HU Abmiidprzx to work like it's supposed to. I really love the look of the monitors frameless design. I…
  • Please delete the first post, I tried to edit it but it created another.
  • Cory it does not work, many people have tested it, have you guys even tested it. I have the XF270HU Abmiidprzx (frameless version 2018) which has freesync on HDMI 2.0 and DP and both overdrive is not working. I have to disable it on HDMI to use the monitor without horrible ghosting. It's stutters and judders as freesync is…

  • I thought i'd try Displayport again and now it seems overdrive might be working now, it seems a lot better than the other day. I need to test more as I just got this monitor and I've been so busy. I'm not sure what's going on to be honest at the moment.

  • Use the HDMI 2.0 cable as the overdrive works, use the HDMI (high speed) supplied cable that came with the monitor it did with mine XF270HUA (frameless design) and use the HDMI 2.0 port on the card and monitor, the freesync range will be 40-144hz. You will have ghosting on displayport as the overdrive doesn't work, you…
  • I have the XF270HA and I USE HDMI 2.0 as it's overdrive is working, the displayports overdrive isn't working so then I recommend a RX Vega or a GPU that supports HDMI 2.0. not sure if the 580 does but make sure first. The Freesync range is 40-144hz, make sure you use the HDMI cable supplied with the XF270HU it says HDMI…
  • I have to use HSMI 2.0 as the overdrive isn't working on Displayport. Yes I'm using Displayport 1.2 option and my monitor and my GPU is Displayport 1.4 capable. My Benq's XL2730Z Displayport overdrive works though It needed a firmware update v002 to fix it which Benq did for me after I bought it.
  • MY GPU's freesync range with HDMI 2.0 is 40-144hz. My GPU has a HDMI 2.0b port on the RX Vega 64 liquid. You also need to use the HDMI cable that came with the XF270HUA It says HDMI [High Speed] my old HDMI cable could only go up to 60hz.
  • I'm sorry to say this but the overdrive while using Displayport with Freesync doesn't seem to be working and it's pretty easy to test if you have a GPU such as the RX vega 64 which has HDMI 2.0 I really feel bad for those who are forced to use displayport as they want to hit 144hz. Where there is this much smoke online…

  • I can pretty much verify overdrive isn't working on Displayport, thankfully for me it is working on HDMI 2.0 haven't tested the other HDMI port. Otherwise this monitor would be unusable the ghosting is terrible. The difference is huge, I'm definitely going to pass this onto AMD.
