I could chk this tomorrow . What kind of problem would it be then? Fyi i did boot an old Win7 image,i think 8-9 years old. It went thru the installation process, but on restarting it gave bsod. Does this help somehow?

Yes of course. It's the only way isn't it? Asa i created the pwd, the secureboot was not greyed out any more and i disabled it.

Ok, did that. Secure boot is disabled. Used diskpart for the pendrive config. (GPT, fat32).I didn't use Rufus though. I simply did copy\paste of all files from the mounted Win10 iso. But the same black screen after the files loaded. Maybe the Win10 image is at fault (1909)? Although i understand little about TPM, i also…

Converted the pendrive to gpt, then with Rufus burnt the latest Win10 1909 onto it. Rufus asks only that secure boot be turned off temporarily. But what if the function is greyed out in the bios? That is, secure boot is greyed out.

Hi there, sad to say the Win7 installation failed, with a BSOD. An attempt to format the hdd then booting from Win10 image failed as well. I guess my initial post was too long and so not many have read it. I'd like then to rewrite it in a brief and concise form, if that is accepted here. Or else start a new thread? Thanks…

The language option is not there at setup. It's strictly hebrew. You did not refer to my idea of formatting (using cmd and diskpart) then trying win10 again?

It isn't weird i think, because what's the alternative? I'll try this with Win7. Thank you. However, i was hopeful that the 1909 Win10 image would load files normally and let me make a clean installation. But it's taking ages to download for some reason, so i still don't have it on a stick.

@andylb Here's an update: I followed your line of thought so i tried booting from a Win7 image and it was successfull! So this means BIOS is in tact? Please advise what would be the best next step. All the best :)

The ram trick didn't work. A disinformation from my side: in uefi mode i get ' no bootable device'. In legacy mode it gives the black screen. Still i tried your advise andylb but to no avail.
