  • Unfortunately, I don't think there's a single G-Sync enabled monitor with HDMI 2. Nvidia is notorious for making their propriety hardware and software incompatible with other common standards, and just like Apple, they get away with everything because they are the market leader. Regarding your PS4, Sony might possibly add…
  • Okey one thing, since your monitor is 16:9, I am not sure the scaling issue with Predator X34 should be present in your case. What happens exactly when you connect your PS4 to this monitor through the HDMI port? Does it not scale 1:1 to fill the entire screen? Edit: It appears the issue in your case is that you will not be…
  • It's impossible to fix since it's a manufactiring defect. These monitors cost more than some 55 4K OLED TVs and yet Acer hasn't taken the time to properly test the HDMI slots functionality. Not to mention these monitors are not even software upgradable, which is a feature that most £200 TVs have nowadays. There should have…
  • The problem is not to get rid of the black bars (that's practically impossible because Xbox itself doesn't support it), the problem is to have normal sized black bars for 16:9 content. What you'll get with this monitor is a stretched image of your Xbox One game, not stretched all the way, but a couple centimeters on each…
  • Thanks Tortri for all this, though there never was an issue connecting my PS4 to the x34. The problem is the HDMI input is faulty when it comes to correctly scaling a 16:9 picture on the monitor via HDMI. Basically it stretches the image by 8cm wide on this particular screen. From my understanding, this applies to all…
  • Hi Tortri, is this reply directed at me for the auto stretching of HDMI input / consoles issue? I tried this and didn't make a difference unfortunately.
  • I have heard this can be rectified by forcing V-Sync on. Go to NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D settings > Vertical sync > Change to 'On' I cannot attest to this myself as I have never faced this problem (because the games I play are usually below 100 Hz even with a 980 Ti), but I think it's worth giving it a try.
  • Hi maxgeek, Did you find any solution or are we stuck with this disproportionate ratio forever? I am especially dissapointed because I did check compatibility of Ultrawide Monitors with console beforehand and all the articles out there led me to believe that it should scale properly and in the case of games with black bars…
