  • HI, sorry I haven't checked in a long time. My little hobo-fix works for me more or less. There are times when it will still Disconnect but the rate is way below than before. Maybe changing the HDD out for an SSD may help? SSD's are supposed to draw less power. I'll try to get my hands on one and report back if it works.…
  • As promised, here's a photo of my hobo-fix 1. Red box is where the HDD ribbon wire clips to the board. Ive put 12 layers of tape on top of it. 2. Green Box is where I put 5 layers of electrical tape under the ribbon wire. Note that this is right beside the clip. 3. Blue box are tapes I put over dock wires to the hinged…
  • Hi Acer Karp, The link that you posted Acer-Karp wrote:Please check link below. http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26947#_ga=1.50001957.263337500.1415824428 gets me a 404 Page not Found
  • Update: There was a windows update today and I haven't had trouble with the dock so far after. I have reconnected my dock HDD and so far no problems aside from a quick, one-time DC/RC whenever a new USB device is plugged in or when the tablet is woken up from sleep (Normal behaviour for my unit when it was brand new) Will…
  • Try cleaning the dock and tablet contacts with cotton and alcohol, then dry it, then rub the contacts with a rubber eraser. If that doesn't work check device manager if there's any driver problems (yellow triangle with exclamatiob amtk beside device name). If none, check for the ff under USB devices in device manager 1.…
  • No prob man. Hopefully our problems get patched soon. For the meantime I suggest using a pin to unlock the screen. The pin entry at least gets a software/screen keypad when you tap the pin field. Also, enable screen keyboard and have the icon show on the system tray just in case it happens again and you need to type asap.
  • Just to be clear, before using my hobo fix try the ff: 1. Uninstall the USB Composite device from the device manager then restart the pc. 2. Uninstall all keyboards from device manager then restart pc 3. Clean tablet/dock contacts with cotton and alcohol 4. Clean tablet/dock contacts with a rubber eraser (just rub it, this…
  • Had same problem. Try removing and reattaching the dock. If that doesnt work, open up 'device manager' and uninstall all listed keyboards, then restart. If that still doesnt work, uninstall 'composite USB device' under the USB Devices in Device Manager, restart. If that still doesn't work uninstall "Generic USB Hub", then…
  • Update time: My work around has so far worked with regards to the HDD access disconnect/reconnect problem. However it seems that there is indeed also a software problem - letting the tablet fall asleep for a long time makes the dock disconnect and reconnect indefinitely again -making it unusable until restart, and…
  • Can't make a detailed guide at the moment, but here's a quick rundown. 1. Detach the tablet from the dock (the lower part with the keyboard) 2. Remove the screws from the dock bottom. I count 10 screws on mine. 3. The bottom cover is now only held in place by clips, carefully pry it open. 4. To test if HDD power Is the…
  • Hey man, I also have a One 10 S1002. It seems our devices have problems supplying enough power to the dock. Can you try cleaning the tablet and dock connectors by rubbing it with an eraser or an alcohol-soaked q-tip? Also, try connecting your USB devices through a powered USB-hub (the ones that have their own power…
  • Hi guys, I was also experiencing this problem. I have traced the cause of mine to a bad connector on the dock HDD. Physically Disconnecting the HDD from the dock stopped the KB and mouse disconnection problems. If you're unwilling to open the dock, maybe you can try disabling the HDD from the device manager? Not sure if…
  • So after mulling over the symptoms, I realized I have experienced this kind of behavior before, on other computers. Whenever I plug an external hard drive to an unpowered USB hub, everything on that hub also disconnects and reconnects. Everything will be working until I put a high demand on the external HDD, things would…
  • I used to do the "troubleshoot problems" when I encountered this, though it hasn't happened to me in a few months. Anyway, it seems they have just released new drivers that should fix this issue:https://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/41574
