Damaged C871-C85 LCD seems to be taped to lid instead of screws holding it to lid.
How can the LCD be removed without damage to lid?

The LCD in our model C871-C85K is not held in place with screws like the older model CBs use. The LCD is held in place by tape (pull tab) on either side of the LCD. Grasp the visible ends sticking out above the top of the LCD and pull to the side and down until the LCD is free.

The video shows a model that has its LCD held in place with screws. The C871 has its LCD held in place by double-sided tape as shown in the previous answer. We ordered replacement LCDs but tape was not included.

Yes, the adhesive tape is a separate part number: 47.HQFN7.003. My guess is the tape is replaced more often than the display, so they have it on it's own number.

Thanks for the tape part number 47.HQFN7.003. Any idea on where I can get some?

If a search on that number doesn't have any hits you might try Acer support directly. If that doesn't help try and measure how thick it is and just use some double sticky of the same thickness cut to the same size.
