Hallo there!

I have Windows 10 installed on the NVMe drive which is the only drive available on the laptop. While inspecting the BIOS settings, I found that the SATA mode is RST with Optane. I do not know whether I should change it to AHCI. I wonder whether it would affect the current performance.

The laptop model is Swift 3 SF314-56G. The model of the NVMe drive is Western Digital PC SN520.

Thanks!

If you change it, you will need to re-install windows to get it to work! What that setting does is give direct control / access of the drive's PCI lane to the CPU speeding up access :) Unless you want to dual boot linux (Vm's are way better!) Leave it on :)

Thanks. I am ready to reinstall Windows if required. However, I did not understand from your comment whether it is better to change it AHCI or leave it as it is. I am interested in sheer performance. I do not mind reinstalling Windows. Please clarify this.

Ah appologies RST is faster , AHCI is slower
