Hello guys,
i have some problems with my Acer predator helios 300
When I was gaming my laptop just turned off and now is just dead, even when i’m plugging it the charging light doesn’t work
I tried to drain and remove the battery and switch the RAM between the slots but still doesn’t work.

P.S.: I had 100% battery before the laptop died

Thank you 🙏

Try a power drain. >>> turn off the unit with long press on the power button. remove the cable. flip the computer and put a pin inside the pin hole and hold it for 30sec. now connect the charger and check if its showing a light on the unit.

Image result for battery pinhole reset

    >>>if there is no pinhole then press and hold the power button for 12sec with out the cable.
    >>>check if the charger is warm or working.

if charger is good and if its not showing light when charger is connected then its hardware issue. contact acer support.

It literally happened to me a couple hours ago, and I am here now writing things that I've done.

I was on YouTube watching some videos until it suddenly died. I initially thought it was black out, but my room light was still on. The charging light went out. So I tried a different wall port, and it still did not help.

I tried pressing the PWR button, and of course it didn't work as well. I held down the PWR button for about a minute, and tried again only for it to still not work.

I opened the laptop, disconnected the battery, and tried running thru AC adapter. It didn't work.

I used a multimeter and figured out that the charger was indeed fine. The power port to the mother board was fine. Interestingly enough, the charging light was off the entire time.

    Any clues??

    Edit: Predator Helios 300 G3-571 (2017) i7-7700HQ GTX 1060 6GB 16GB DDR4 256GB m.2 SSD.

Not very happy right now. I bought this Predator Helios 300 PH315-53 Dec 2020 and sporadically used it ever since. I initially did play PC games on it and all was well. It stayed untouched for a while as I have a work laptop and barely had time to play games. In 2021, the battery had to be reset and I managed to do that following the online instructions for inbuilt NO reset pinhole laptop. I recently became unemployed and started using the laptop more. I decided to download games and it suddenly switched off and no longer turns on....no lights for charging or power. I tried all of the above instructions. I checked the charger with my Nitro laptop and wall socket all works. Interestingly the battery has a scratch on it when I opened the back cover and the cover was scratched from what looked like a screwdriver slipped when someone had tried to remove the screw on this supposed "NEW" Amazon bought laptop. I splashed a bit more money on this gaming laptop more than I normally would on tech and hoped for many years of use. Well for one I will never buy anything tech from amazon again and this issue it seems a recurring theme with this acer model. I had a second hand Acer Aspire that lasted me for 15 years before the it got corrupted. But seriously this ***** laptop did not even complete a 3 year term and the manufacturer warranty is ONLY a year!

Hey KyuJunior, your post is exactly the same post 'word for word' as Triparadox, are you using two different usernames?

Anyway, the power problems that you are all experiencing is within the DC In port range or the mosats at the power port, check if one of those mosats is not shorted, as its a bit confusing which laptop models the questions are about, as that would help also. Follow the power trace path of the mainboard to the power stages of the laptop and check if there are any shorted/burned circuitry components, note; if you have no technical experience then don't alter or try to fix anything in your laptop, as you will do damage and ruin your laptops mainboard, which wil cost you allot more than having an experienced technician fix your power on problem(s), leave all technical diagnostics and repairs to an experienced technician that has all the tools and can fix/replace microscopic laptop components.
