The motherboard or the GPU of my laptop is fried, what can i do?

I requested a fan replacement of my laptop and the engineer who came to install THE new set of fans fried my motherboard or the GPU. I only realised that the GPU of the laptop isn't working anymore after he left. The laptop is in warranty but I'm concerned if the change or repair of the motherboard would result in poor performance or will my laptop get replaced?

So if it is one of these componants the only way of fixing it would be to swap the motherboard. under warrnaty the replacement / repair should be at least the same spec or better if not possible :)
But wouldn't the change of motherboard also change the serial number of the device? Also I have upgraded my RAM from acer by adding another 8GB ram stick. What about that?
If you computer is still under warranty, send it in for a repair, and the tech from acer would do what is required. Add in the information that you have upgraded the RAM or you can remove the RAM and send it to them for repair. The best way to get this fixed is by sending it to Acer instead of taking it to a local tech. The serial number for your unit will be changed by the tech when he is replacing the motherboard if it is required to change the MB. The Serial number can be changed.

It would change the serial number , will still come with a windows key. As for the ram the componants should be swapped over when its replaced, make sure to mention it so its not missed though! For example my laptop had a extra drive in and acer were able to move that across :)

Since it happened due to physical damage it won't be covered under warranty. Contact acer for oow repair cost or check for part partners for the parts alone.

Acer service rep? If so then definitely you can ask for service.
