I have a Predator Helios 300 (PH315-51).Apart from the original hardware there is a 1TB SSHD installed.Undervolted -140.6mV using throttlestop to help with thermals. My warranty can't be availed because this was purchased from another country. Earlier my original adapter had stopped working due to power issues. I got a replacement adapter (exact same) from my nearest certified acer service center.

Everything was fine until 3 months ago, while cleaning dust off my laptop I noticed that my battery had bulged. Even HWMonitor showed wear levels of upto 40% and the battery was not reliable. I got the replacement battery from a certified acer service center yesterday and installed it myself.

Only difference was the acer logo and the plug (old one was aligned correctly while the new one was not). However I installed the battery. Let it charge to 100% and then ran some stress test to drain it. After draining I fully charged it. HWMonitor shows a wear level of 3% for the new battery. Then I noticed the charging indicator, after fully charged it was blinking orange.

No error beeps nor any error in Windows. Windows shows that the battery is charged and plugged in yet the orange blink exist. Also the blinking is random and not present at all times. Once it starts blinking then i need to unplug and replug the adapter to make it blue.I already tried Uninstalling both drivers for ac adapter and battery from device manager, using the battery reset pinhole button(10 secs press) and power cycle . Nothing helped .

Is the battery incompatible or is this a bios issue.I am trying to figure out how to reflash bios as it wont let me install it since its the same version. Any help would be appreciated .

    Final Update:

Got a genuine acer battery replacement from the same service center. Took nearly 3 months for the whole process. Kind of disappointed because of that. But yes, i no longer face any weird issues after replacing the battery.

Thanks to all those who helped out here.

    Hi,
Have you left the laptop to rest for few minutes after battery reset? If not, try the battery reset again and leave the laptop to rest for 15-20 Mins before start charging the battery.
Do you happen to discharge the battery completely(0%)? You shouldn't discharge the battery to 0% and please adjust the settings in Advance Power settings like in my snip.
Try switching off Battery Saver feature in Settings, go to Settings, select System tile, click Battery in the left pane and turn off battery saver.

    Hey brummyfan2,

No I didn't leave my laptop to rest after the reset. I plugged in the adapter and started using it after i pressed it for 10 secs. Will try your suggestion and get back.

No, Laptop was not fully discharged to 0% .It was more like 7% I suppose. Attached screenshot of my custom battery levels based on my usage.
    Battery saver was already off.

I drained battery with normal web browsing to 15% today and am currently charging it back as I type this. The blinking has not yet started. Its solid orange as its supposed to be while charging. Will see if starts after the battery is fully charged.

    Thanks

No problem, after few cycles of recharging it may work as it should, anyway, you could also follow the instructions for manually calibrating the battery, you don't have to do very often but once in 6 months or so will keep the battery readings accurate.

Did the reset with the time gap as you told. Did not help. I also have done full charge -> full discharge like 4 times now. No difference.

Also to confirm its the new battery i tried with the old one, No there is not blinking issue with that. Everything works fine as it supposed to be.
But then i tried to clear all power from mb, so I removed both battery and cmos battery and held down the power button for 10 secs.Replugged everything back in. After that laptop wont turn on black screen with keyboard lights on,no fans. I fixed the issue by again removing both battery and cmos for 10 mins and left it there. Then replugged everything back in. It took a minute to turn on back but with the same old issue of blinking after its fully charged.

At this point i dont see any other way, rather than going to the service center.

Also, I can't find any guides on how to reflash/reset the bios firmware to check if that fixes the problem.

    Thanks again for your time.

No problem, yes, it's better to send it for a repair service.

    Update :
Gave it to the service center i brought the battery on 1st Feb.
They took 1 week to diagnose and told me to ignore the blinking if the laptop works fine.
I refused this solution and now they are RMA the battery i ordered from them to see if that helps. Might take another week for delivery of the new battery.
Currently using my original battery on my laptop. The issue is not there with this one which make me believe that it was the replacement battery issue.

    Update 2 :
Got the new battery 2 days ago, The service center did the installation. After they installed, I did a HWMonitor check (O% wear and 33440 mWh Capacity) and a quick charging test to see if battery is charging. It was so i came back to my home. After coming home, I was opened my laptop to see the battery. I found few things.
    1) The new battery they installed this time is very identical to the original one I had (Attached Photo)

    2) The battery has some damage as if someone had scratched it with a knife or something. (Attached Photo)

    3) After few mins of usage the blinking issue came back but this time it was very rarely occurring.

I messaged the service center about the same the same day.

Today when I checked back on HWMonitor it says that it has 11% wear and the full charge capacity dropped to 29990 mWh. The battery backup barely stays for a hour max. The older battery (Original and the 1st replacement) was giving me nearly 3 hours of backup easily.

I am now in a complete dilemma on what to do right now.
Can i get some higher acer reps to contact me ? So that I can see if they can be of any help for this issue.

    Update 3:

The service center took the battery back and accepted that both the battery they gave till now was not genuine acer replacement. They gave me a full refund for the same.

Now I am waiting to hear back from another acer service partner in another city to let me know if they can get the replacement genuine acer battery for my laptop.
