Brand New S230HL | Horizontal Position | Autoconfig undoes setting

Hi.  I've just installed a new S230HL monitor, bought from Best Buy Wednesday.  The factory setting have the picture a few pixels to the right; I can fix it with the OSD menu and with the Acer software.  But on reboot, or after the screen saver runs, the monitor's auto-config set back to the wrong position every time.

I've also, in the software, saved the good position as a preset, and made it the default preset.  But, selecting it from the right click on the desktop Acer menu, does not re-adjust the screen.  And Auto-config does not use it as the default.

What do do?  How to save this setting (Horizontal Position 44 instead of 50) permanently, so we don't have to adjust it manually every time?

The importance is that the X icon you use to close a Windows screen is obscured, and becomes hard to access.  The urgency in fixing it is that I have only 15 days from Wednesday (until 6/20) to bring it back to Best Buy.

I have logged this question with Acer support, but haven't yesterday, but haven't received a computer generated acknowledgment yet.

I'm also slightly concerned about two faint lines down the left side of the screen, almost like a fold in cloth, behind the desktop icons.

Thank you for any advice.  I'm sure there is a setting somewhere!

Cheers,

Seamus

if I had the lines and also the issue I would consider that

Acer would proably need to see the systm in service center to fix lines

    Yes, thank you.

In the end, as it was just purchased, I decided the best thing to do was return it to the store.  They (Best Buy) gave me a full refund with no problem at all.  Now I'm thinking of buying the Dell equivalent.

    Cheers,
