Hello all. I have a AN515-42 Ryzen 7 2700U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx, windows 10, 64 bit.
The HDMI has never worked, although I have only just realised this. I have a second laptop that is usually plugged into a large monitor so don't usually need to plug this one into a monitor. On the few occasions I have tried to, it wouldn't connect, so I plugged in the other one and carried on, thinking I'l have to check the settings. The other laptop has pooped itself. Now when I need to use this with an HDMI I realise that there is a problem.
I have searched through other questions and notice that people have been referred to the HDMI port under Display Adapyters. I don't have an option for HDMI port under Display adapters so figure that might be my problem.
I am a capable computer user and can follow detailed instructions, but would get lost if instructions assumed that I have developer or programmer knowldge.
I would be grateful for advice.

Try to install the missing drivers from acer site. enter the snid and hit find. Also check in hdmi under the system devices.

Thank you for helping, I do appreciate it.
HDMI doesn't appear in my System Devices list. You seem to have a 'High Definition... slightly obscured that i don;t have in my list.
Which I suspect is an indication of my problem. Looking at the available drivers the only one that seems likely is VGA. There are only 11 drivers, mostly for wireless, airplane mode, bluetooth, LAN and touchpad. Should I try the VGA? or is that not what I need?

    Hi Christy
Yes, I clicked on the link you provided. I put my snid (xxxxxxxxxxxx) and it came back with 11 drivers: Airplane Mode Driver, Audio Driver, Bluetooth Driver, Bluetooth Driver (NFA344A Liteon), Card Reader Driver, LAN Driver, 2 x Touchpad Drivers, VGA Driver, Wireless LAN Driver and Wireless LAN Driver (NFA344A HAI).
I can't see any HDMI options under any of the Device Manager or System Dvices menus. I have selected 'Show Hidden' and clicked everywhere.
I have snipped images of every line of the device manager. I don't have Floppy drive controllers, or Non-Plug and Play drivers as options.
Is it possible that the sotware/driver for the HDMI was never there?
Your instructions are clear, I just don';t seem to have the options you have suggested.
Again, thanks for taking the time.
    Cheers
    Mike
