I am assured I can hook up old monitor via USC-C adaptor but keep getting a blank. No other device detected in messages from Windows 10. Bloke in shop tested adaptor on his computer and it worked fine. Is there some setting issue on this Nitro model???

Its not an issue per say but the laptop doesnt support USB-C displaylink out, looking at your manual ( https://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/PDFs/NH7981823_.Q9GEK.002_UserManual1.PDF?v=2 ). You can use a usb DisplayLink adapter instead to connect it.

DisplayLink ( https://www.displaylink.com/products/find?cat=3&maxd=1  ) uses a special driver to send the monitor data over the USB connection.

On amazon you have the offically supported ones which are all linked on the displaylink site, and then quite a few knock offs for quite a bit cheaper. The give away is if the listing says that "a driver is needed for display out" its probs unlicenced display link

Cheapest is likely one of the USB-C hubs with HDMI or DP on it.

Thanks Leostat i could not find that information on the manual. I shall hunt for a USB 3.0 to VGA adatptor so I have my 2 big screens working and the one on the laptop. The HDMI connection was a breeze for the first monitor, thought I was going to have it easy with second after advice from trusted person. There you go, life has its twists. Again, many thanks for the help.
