First of all try to update drivers in NVIDIA,
if that does not work try to add program to high performance on GPU. In worst case I would get back to shop where you got the laptop and ask them to check. As it might be foulty GPU , for example no termo paste etc.

Could there be any updates running in the background?  I bought mine on Monday and Tuesday for a hood part of the days there were updates going.  I updated my video does overs as it was 3 behind.

check task manager and disable all useless programs in the background. check nvidia control panel (make sure all your games are running on the dgpu not igpu.) reinstall drivers or update them from nvidias site. turn off vsync in games and make sure dont set settings too high.
